In honor of Thrifty Thursday...
I just won this one at auction, on its way to me.
I'm sure this one is going to bring me lots of future smiles. :)
Too Cool, John. Hope to see more pics of that one when you have it. Do you know when it was made and is the box?

Although the price of this knife is cheap the Quality of this knife is very good to excellent. No gaps, chips, drips, runs, or errors. First rate finish and the blades take a great edge and hold that edge with use. I feel just as confident carrying this Sowbelly as I do carrying many other knives that I have.

Last week, I bought this Imperial camp knife, with pen blade instead of awl, at a consignment shop in the little town where we went for vacation. I have not yet given it the TLC the seller recommended, but I hope to do so relatively soon (except I may not be man enough to quickly fix the edge on that pen blade). The tang stamp indicates the knife was made in the 1936-1952 era, so the knife is probably older than I am.

By the time you straighten out that pen, it will be pretty close to an awl.

I believe my Thrifty Thursday will be a Rough Rider RR630 Synthetic Yellow series large stockman. ($9.99 plus free shipping a couple years ago) and Marbles MR278 "G.I. Utility Knife"/"Demo Knife" ($6.99 plus "free" shipping.)
(shipping was actually $3.96, but I bought two knives, so I can count/apply the combined shipping cost on/to the other one :) )
I'll have to remove the costly right at $26. with shipping (BTI) Old Timer 25OT from my belt in order to keep it in "thrifty carry" territory, of course.

I'd be surprised if the RR and Marbles haven't deprecated since I got them, making them even more thrifty. :)View attachment 1411577

This Marbles Workman Series Trapper cost under $7 about 2.5 years ago. Fun and functional! I'm a spearpoint fan, and the pile side of the blade also has a ruler. Both flathead and Philips inline screwdrivers, bottle opener, wire stripper, bail. G-10 handles, and who can resist an arrow shield?

1945-1955 Imperial Hammer Brand.
Got it a few years ago, and I think the guy at the show threw it in for free, since it's missing covers. I intended to make some, but it works just fine, and is kinda cool like this.

I did give it a bit of a brushed finish.

The buckshot is one of my favorite RR cover materials

- yes, great, aren't they

It arrived this morning, gave it a quick once over and ready for service in 10mins.

These knives really puzzle me - aside the slightly OTT nail-nick - I cannot believe their vfm, their fit n finish and sheer apparent build quality/weight........extraordinary.
