I’ve noticed shrinkage of the micarta

Does Micarta typically shrink or swell?
I live in California, which is very nice to cover materials, so I've never noticed it.

I don’t know. Plus, there has been some discussion as to whether the RR is real micarta

Micarta generally doesn’t move much if at all. Paper micarta is very stable. I would guess that it depends on how it was made...resin used, substrate material.
