Thrifty Thursday... Cheap Traditional Knives

The only Rough Rider that has stayed in my collection.
All the others were given to nephews or tossed in the garbage.
This one stays as an example of what they CAN produce if they had a mind to.
It has one tiny gap, everything else is really well done. The action is absolutely perfect.

On a holiday some years ago, visited the town of St. Paul de Vence in France.

Besides being a wonderful place to walk around - shops, bars, cafes etc., they had a knife shop. Prices were a tad steep, but I did buy this wee fella at a very good price indeed - typical French picnic folder.

From what I recall, it was a local knifemaker doing these for the shop, no other markings/brand name

By the way...
That Rough Rider I posted ^^above^^ would give any Case knife I own some serious competition.
It's just too bad they don't all come that well made, or I'd own a hundred of them.

I decided to carry a cheapie today, along with my others... first outing for my new red painted hornbeam Opie #8.... this one is also my first INOX one. Look up "thrifty knife" in the dictionary... Opies will be there....

Another Okapi for me this week; I think the model is Biltong.
With 20% online discount code, the price dropped below $6, but state sales tax pushed it back up to $6.28.
(I noticed r8shell r8shell posted one just like it in the Totin' Today thread today.)
