It's a fond memory for me.Strangely, I don't remember them as a kid.
As a kid, visiting my Grandmother, ina small town.
While the older people were visiting, they'd give us restless kids a few dimes and send us downtown.
I'd spend a dime for a soda at the diner, and another dime for a yo-yo or top at the Five-and-Dime store.
They both had those display cards full of knives, and I'd wish I had enough dimes to buy one for myself.
