Ti/Carbon Fiber S90v Military sale

Being picky with centering is one thing...having the blade discolored and scratched already right out of the box is another thing imo. Never have seen a brand new blade like this, even in cheaper makers.

I believe the vertical “scratches” are just the factory grinds. They are present on both of mine.

Mine (two) are just like that and I did not think they are blemishes or out of spec. To be precise, the reflection on my both blades is not 100% even: some areas seem to be slightly shinier than other areas, if I look very carefully. Hate to say it but I think you are overly picky. A DLC blade might be more appropriate for you.[/QUOT
Wow, thanks for your opinion...let me look up dlc blade, joke...duly noted.

^This. It is just reflection of grind lines not discolor. The grind lines cannot be 100% even (i.e., absolutely parallel to each other and with the same depth throughout). See mine below.

Sorry man if my comment came across in the wrong way. I could have encouraged you to exchange for it but I am afraid you'd get a similar blade.

Hmm , well if you're not happy with the knife then you have the right to exchange it. It's your money. Just make a note either on the phone or email to KW that the new one not have any of the same issues. And personally , I'd have no prob paying the $7 to ship it back. The knife is such a good deal anyway so who cares about a small shipping cost?

No worries, you made a point...I'm not that picky usually but expected better with this model I guess.
KW is handling this for me...all should be good next week. Thanks for the input!

Top picture looks good, bottom picture has what looks like a little bit of vertical scratches probably from grinding. I have noticed when my unclean fingers touch the blade (oily), it leaves greyish hue to it, that’s very hard to get off.

Edit: if I wasn’t happy I’d exchange! For the low cost of $7 get the one you want!

This thread is killing me. I’ve wanted a framelock Millie ever since I missed the m4 version. Wish this had come out in a different steel. Still trying to talk myself into it but i’m just not a fan of s90v/s110v in folders. I’m surprised that sales have been sluggish. I wonder if others have similar thoughts as me about the steel or if s90v has just become “boring” to collectors?

I'm not a diehard Millie fan like others on here, but this combo and the fact it's an exclusive plus great member reviews, pushed me over the edge.

Well I have never used S90v before so its all new to me. That said; I might swap the blade out with the CTS-204 version when I get it or even my black DLC S30v version that I am used to using, for awhile.

With the full ti and fluted ti Millitaries discontinued, and selling slowly even at blowout prices, my guess is we will not see many ti iterations of the Millitary in the near future...

At this price it might be worthwhile to buy the KW version, and do a blade-swap later with your steel of choice...

I’m sure you’ll find a buyer for a Franken S90V Military on the exchange. It becomes a bit of a long term project and a hassle, but could be worthwhile if you are not in a hurry.

204p or s90v? They both are excellent steels. I like s90v more for daily use because it likes coarse edges and that means less time spent sharpening. For shiny polished edges I'd choose 204p over s90v because s90v's higher Vanadium content makes it harder to polish. Comparing them the two that really stand out are the Chromium and Vanadium contents.. 204p has more Chromium(6% more) but s90v has more Vanadium(5% more)..everything else is nearly the same..

I think it's probably more that the framelock Millie isn't that popular and maybe the same is true of the standard Millie. The framelock and fluted versions were discontinued last year.

My second one arrived and is close to perfect. The blade is beautifully ground and centering is spot on. It is actually smoother out of the box than my original. Lock up is at 50% with slight lock stick. I am sure it will wear in in a short period of time. Both are keepers for me and it was money well spent.

After using the Military, I feel ashamed that I never gave this model it’s just dues. It can handle any edc task with ease and is ultra comfortable in doing so. The 204 version may be my next Military.
