Time to Change Your Snark Plugs

Our direct next door neighbors were just fighting, i walked outside to see what was going on, soon as i opened the door one guy fired his gun... The slug went through my bedroom window, through a stuffed animal and into my knife case where the slug stopped. Glass is all over our bed. The 45 cal. slug is intact in my knife case now.. The police officer left it there and said not to move it as a detective is coming to take more pictures.

2 men arrested... We were shook up pretty good.

I have pictures ill share soon as well.

Philadelphia is bullshit.

Man, I'm glad nobody got hurt! Your move can't come soon enough.

You learn something every day. Yesterday I ran to the grocery store with the list Kay gave me. I learned that "Fage" yogurt is not pronounced "Faggy" yogurt.

WW, Sure glad everyone is OK. At least all you'll have to dodge in the boonies of Florida will alligators, pythons, hurricanes and old people.

Thanks everyone! Been a wild night.

Will be very happy to get out of here.

Noswad, knives are fine.. had it made it through the next wood drawer it could have damaged some but it stopped before hitting any steel.

The detective that came and retrieved the slug did ask to check out my comp cutter though... I just knew he was going to say something like "who needs this" or "what could you use this for" or something.... But he just said "This is cool" and "damn it's heavy" and went about taking his pictures.

OH! I want some tagalongs and thin mints. Thank you, sir.

You can have em. I just want some of the peanut butter ones.

I'm probably one of a dozen people in the United States that doesn't like Thin Mints. I do love the Tagalongs (or peanut butter/chocolate thingies, not sure of the new name) and the Do-Si-Do's (peanut butter and oatmeal). Just need a tall glass of milk and I'm set for a snack.

Glad everyone is safe WW

Finally got caught up on snark, you guys moved fast.

Got back from the backpacking trip, boy was it a wake up call, I seriously need to get moving and in shape before philmont or I'm going to die.
Other than a couple small mishaps everything went fine, and we saw some absolutely beautiful scenery, I'll try and find a couple pictures for you guys

Ahh man WW...
I'm so glad your family is OK.
That's absolutely crazy...

I'm going back through Breaking Bad... Again.... And my wife is watching it for the first time. It's a little agonizing trying not to spoil anything. I'm looking forward to "Better Call Saul" hitting Netflix.

Yeah, rewatching Breaking Bad and not giving up any spoilers would be tough! I think you'll really like Better Call Saul.

Sorry I been so absent guys! Been dealing with work stuff and finally got stuff coming in that has been on order for months.

As for the pasta discussion, for 1 lb of pasta I cook it in a 12 quart pot, with the strainer dropped in. I don't add anything besides salt, and a TON of water. Pull the noodles out using the strainer and then dump into a pan with the sauce warming up in it, and ladle in 1-3 ladles of pasta water (DO NOT DISCARD THAT WATER!!!!) Toss, plate, add cheese (and various other accouterments) and dig in!

There are some that swear adding a wooden spoon across the mouth of the pot prevents boil overs. Others will swear oil does, and others say starting with cold water not hot water... blah blah blah. The only real way is to keep an eye on it and use a BIG pot. Honestly you should anyway because you want that rolling boil to prevent the noodles from clumping/sticking.

Pretty much exactly what we do. The pasta water seems to make a real diff. I wonder what's going on? Maybe it adds starch?

Damn WW! Guardian angels working overtime! Glad you guys are ok, mailing out your package tonight!

That's exactly what it does, the added starch helps the sauce stick to the noodles. For the hearty sauces I actually prefer a mostaccoli type noodle with ridges on the outside. Sometimes though a nice thin noodle with a thick sauce, is just yummy. A creamy bolonese is AMAZING!

Love it! When are you coming up this way? We got to go out for food!

I'm not sure. It will depend, it won't be this year but I will see you at Blade show! We might have to go to get a good meal while down there.

Just picked up Slobberbone's first album, Crow Pot Pie. Really love that band. Saw them live in Toronto when they had released "Everything You Thought Was Right Was Wrong Today." That was back in 2000 - 2001. Can't believe it was that long ago. They put on an incredible show.

Oh man, I really did laugh out loud when I read this. Can't say I wouldn't make the same mistake.

Now I know.

WW, how crap man! I am glad everyone is safe.

I heard on the news in Philly there was some home invasions and robberies. Was this instance related? The news said the same person/ people went on a spree.
