Just stumbled upon this thread and I'm thinking I want to get in on this.......

........if it is going to be a $500 custom, I'm most likely out......a $100 production, I'll most likely be in......

.....does anybody have a picture of last years knife?.....how much did it cost??

Target is under $100, including shipping. We've managed to come close to this for five years now.

Here are the 2006, 2007, and 2008 knives (note that these are not my pictures):

I am by no means trying to force my preferences on others, but I like last years knife a lot because there is no etching on the blade. Just my .02. I'm getting one no matter what, but thought I'd throw it out there.

Sweet! I'm in for sure! I'm going to cast my vote for an Easy Open Jack.

I voted HJ on the poll. Although what I really want is an EO - HJ(Easy Open with a punch like the picture I posted on the previous thread) but I reckon that was just to much to hope for.

Anthony

EO Jack for me -- would like a wharnie or cap-lifter secondary, though.

I agree with you guys......a punch or cap-lifter sounds cool for the secondary blade.

I agree here too......I'd prefer a non-etched blade........looks like the last two years were non-etched.

This is sweet......hate I just found out about this!

 on no etch. No engraved bolsters or round gold shields either. I really like the 2010 stamping scheme and would like to stay with it.

AND I missed that great looking 2009 offering!!! MAN did I miss out!!

I know how you feel! I'm very glad to have got a 2010 forum knife though...it brought a love for a new pattern I had never given a chance in the past.

I can't remember who's idea it was for last year's stamping but in my opinion that is what perfected it.

Can I git' an "A-men"! The stamp looks fantastic! I'd love to see them again this year.

Thanks for posting those photos, Rick.

I have been wondering what the forum knives of the past were.

I'm right there with you guys on this one. The 2010 tang stamp is just about the coolest thing I've ever seen. I absolutely love it!

Amen from me. That 2010 knife is totally gorgeous.

If this years EO (which looks to be well in the lead for pattern), can get that sort of tang stamp, I'll be a happy camper! I would much prefer to see something other than ebony though. I saw some pics in another thread done in bone that looked spectacular (but I'm jumping the gun on a future poll I suspect).

For those who don't recall, we had the stamp made with ten dots, borrowing an idea from Case. The intent is to grind a dot off the stamp each consecutive year, to further authenticate the knife.
The stamp is our property, and can be transferred to another cutlery if we choose.
Kudos and a big THANKS to Ivankerley who did the meticulous graphics for the stamp, and for the Box label!!

Good idea, and good to know the stamp will be returning (it really does look cool).

We were planning on putting an etch on the bail. So, with all the anti etchers out there, we through the etched baby bail out with the bath water.:D
