Funny ..... I heard that's the sleigh platform carrying mine! Your's however, was placed on a sleigh powered by the venerable Fiat 126 Bambino!! I say this out of affection .... as this was my favorite car to drive while living in Augsburg, Germany. Also, deep down, I have a feeling that I am going to be eating a big plate of crow! Because .... if it weren't for bad luck, I'd have none at all! The wait goes on!
 
Good news, bad news.....! My TS1 arrived here at 11:45 ET! No crow for me! Bad news is that UPS hit me up with an additional $27.16 in customs/brokerage fees! This turned into a very expensive knife ..... but WELL worth it. Pics coming as soon as I get the camera out and take a few shots!!!

I have no idea. My jaw dropped to the floor when the delivery guy showed up. It was shipped from LionSteel the evening of the 21st and arrived here before noon on the 24th. What a Christmas!!!! Grazie mille Gianni (and that just about exhausts the extent of my Italian!!!)

Drh, why is your tispine yellowish gold instead of bronze? I thought the 'gold' option meant bronze as in Gianni's pic. Did I make a big mistake??

Its just the lighting. That's always the case with anodizing. Actual reflected color varies with the type/angle of the light. At some point when I have time, plan to take more pics in the evening when I can better control the lighting. Also, in my excited haste ... could have chosen a better background. But, having said that .... the finish is very bright and shiny and is more like what my pictures depict than the ones posted by LionSteel. Actual color under most ambient light is just a tad less yellow than in my pics (taken during the daytime ... in a light box, with three 5500K bulbs and two mirrors providing the lighting. But, nevertheless, very, very shiny.
 
Recieved mine as well. $27.16 later and it is the wrong color, recieved blue/purple not the grey I ordered. Really not a happy camper at the moment. Already paid $70 more than if I had just preordered from Blade HQ, got stuck with duty fee(I guess), and then recieved the wrong freaking knife.

Gianni, what is my next step?
 
That's lame. LionSteel should of pulled a move like the chinese, i.e. gift, or knife parts, etc..
 
Import fee is a part of life ordering from out of country. I had hoped it had been factored in already though, didn't expect a c.o.d.

Yes and no. I had no major gripes with paying it. Stupidity on my part. I knew that here in the US most types of knives do not incur any duty/customs fees and the invoice clearly indicated that it was a non-automatic folding/sporting knife. What I forgot about and had kicked in was the value. Charges are tacked on for items in excess of $200. What always irks me are the nuisance fees ..... like the brokerage agents taking their cut which increased the fees by more than $6. Still, no regrets. And, I like the coloring of the knife more than those originally posted by LionSteel. It is very much different than the Bronze SR1 (which looks almost identical in color to the LionSteel pics of the Gold TS1). Going to take a few pics later to show the difference in color between the SR1 and the TS1.

What?! That sucks bro. Sorry. Now is it actually blue? Or more purple? Blue like the anodizing on a CRK thumstud? Can you show pics? Thanks! :(
 
Not opening it so the pics my phone takes are worthless. This sample definitely looks bkue. The occasional angle give a purple hue, but it is blue.

I know stuff happens and that Gianni will take care of me but the dissapointment just hit hard.
 
Ceptor, sorry to hear about the mixup. I ordered a blue myself and am glad to hear its more blue than purple. I'm sure Gianni will do his best to clear it up.

I haven't been home yet to see if UPS came. With the additional fees the guys are paying, the knife is $100 more direct than through BladeHQ. I guess it's the cost of being "first." Being patient sure is cheaper :). Still, can't wait to get home. I probably won't see mine until Wednesday. I'm nearly 400 miles from home. My current sleigh doesn't go that fast. Besides, I don't want to "donate" $300+ to the California Highway Patrol.

Of course I will take care... Sorry that in this days it is difficult.
 
I will update my pictures later to give you a better idea of the actual color of the Gold ..... however, it is very much like the pics posted earlier. There is a problem with DropBox at the current time, so I can't upload the new pics. When I do, you will see what mine looks like under fairly good lighting. Keep in mind, that the color, due to the anodizing process does change slightly based on light and angle of the light. Definitely not Bronze, though. I have a comparison shot with my Bronze SR1 where you can see the difference. Now If only DropBox starts working again!!!
