Todd Begg, custom knife maker?

It seems that both Peter and Todd are well repected. I have had no dealings with either, but have read enough of what Peter has had to say to know that he wouldn't have posted what he did here unless he felt it was warranted. It is obvious that his experience with Todd has not been as good as has the experiences of others that have posted here. I personally think that Peter did what he thought was right and that is good enough for me.

I haver never dealt with Todd nor have I ever handled any of his knives although I have admired them from their pictures. As far as Peter goes in my opinion he should be able to relay his feelings and concerns on this forum without any member interrogating him and questioning his honesty when that member is not involved in any part of the issues and doesn't know what he is talking about.

I was going to let this die after MegaloByte put the whole thread in perspective and I strongly agree with what Megalobyte had to say.
Why can't I relay my feelings Larry? Why don't I know what I'm talking about, because I am one of the only ones who disagreed with the way this was handled, so therefore I'm wrong?
Is that the same reason you sent me a PM trying to enlighten me on the price of a knife I was selling?

Let this thread die, everything's been settled, if you have any problems with me Larry, send me a PM like you have previously and from what I remember of our PM exchange, it doesn't take much to set you off.

This is done, Megalobyte and I had a friendly PM exchange, I thanked him for his opinion and like I said previously (for those of you chiming in without reading more than the last comment)I have no problems with anyone in the knife community, I consider everyone family.

One more thing Larry, if we ever meet at a knife show, the drinks are on me. No hard feelings on my part bro.

unless that question mark is removed in the name of this thread, the serious damage is done.

unless there's a thread that reads "Peter G., serious collector?" I can't see where this is even close to fair

the title to this thread will cast aspersions everytime it rises to the top.

from what I've read this is not about whether Todd Begg is a custom knife maker and it never was.

the existance of a masterpiece "the scarmaker" ensured that he was a custom knife maker.

I cannot see why anyone would cast doubt on a craftsman in public when in actuallity when you read the first few sentences you realize this isn't about whether Todd Begg is what he says he is, it's a hissy fit from a customer who had nothing on the line. No deposit. "Does Peter G. pay in full for his knives?".
How would that look?

Next time think.

the only good I can see that has come from this is that the Begg's may now have a semi-commercial product line called "the scarmaker" of which the very first was made by custom knife maker Todd Begg.

I won't reiterate the troubles the Beggs have seen over the past few years. I'll just say that I hope they get a deal with a major knifemaker, get rich and get some peace and quiet and maybe just maybe some justice.

If I was bladeforums administrator I'd remove the question mark.

unless this was all for publicity purposes, in which case I'll leave now and never darken these halls again.

There's booze at these shows?
My attempt at levity. :foot:

I think that that question mark was placed in the wrong place and that Peter should have used the question mark icon that would appear to the left of the thread title. This never was about whether Todd was actually a custom knife maker.

What exactly do you mean by "for publicity purposes"? I can not see what kind of publicity you are referring to.

Ooooh! That's a threat some of us are really going to lose sleep over.

"Ooooh! That's a threat some of us are really going to lose sleep over. "

with this kind of devilishly sharp retort I have a feeling that if you were losing sleep about anything, you'd be the last to know why.

"What exactly do you mean by "for publicity purposes"? I can not see what kind of publicity you are referring to." it's a riddle. see if bright HDCharlie can help you.

Obligatory message to moderators: ban me or remove the question mark from this thread.

Nobody needs to ban you; just go away, if that's what you want.

You joined without any help, I'll bet you can figure out how to leave without any. Besides, if you had any ability in the area of reading comprehension, you'd have no problem with the "?" in the first place.

Try reading the title with the word "question" in place of the "?". That too hard for ya'? Must be, that's the second time someone has explained the concept to you.

Charlie

your rather lame attempt at explaining the the meaning of the thread title is the second explanation after Keith's and you refer to it in the past tense and you're questioning my reading comprehension?:barf:

I'm leaving

thanks for bringing this to the top of the heap again. I never shall

Well, if that's an obligatory message I guess we're obligated to obey your commands....

The moderators do not necessarily agree with everything posted on this forum, including punctuation.

I dont think it was ever a question about whether he was a maker or not.

It may be an error in punctuation, but if you demand threads be altered for spelling or punctuation you would need a thousand people working 24/7 to keep up.

I think the topic was pretty clear, you just need at least a touch of common sense.

100 feet above the white castle on rt. 17?
Hmm, that would make it Lodi? Hasbrouck Hts?
I make it a point to stop at that White Castle every time I'm on that stretch of rt. 17. It always seems like a great idea going in, but every time I leave wondering why I punish myself that way. :barf:

So everyone that is interested in acquiring this knife should keep an eye out in the For Sale: Custom Knives (Individual) forum. It should appear there quite soon.

To all concerned:

The Scarmaker has arrived safely.

I will post an update with photos this weekend.

Peter
