Todd Begg, custom knife maker?

BossHoss,

I don't even know what to say to this offer of yours.......unbelievable and incredible!!!! So if my math is right you are going to donate $1000.00 to doctors without borders????? Amazing. I, for one, hope Peter takes you up on this as it was his plan to auction the knife and donate all the proceeds anyway, and any auction couldn't possibly fetch more than what you are going to donate. But, ultimatetly it is up to Peter, as the knife belongs to him to fufill our promise.

Anyway, Jon, regardless if Peter accepts or not, this is truely generous.

Tanya

Thanks.

I will post news of its arrival and take some photos, ASAP

I will plan on offering it during the first or second week of January.

Joyeaux Noel!

Peter

Tntberg, In reading this post I see that being your own boss has both it's drawbacks and rewards. I don't have any of your customs, but if you put this much effort into the small bumps that happen in life, I am sure they are well worth the wait. As for the offers of BossHoss and Bladegobblin, they already know quality and what it's worth. Best wishings in the coming year and have a great holiday. Sincerly Martin

THANK YOU, JON, for your wonderful 'bid'/donation for the Scarmaker.........and Tanya for keeping us posted on the progress.

It would be a great thing if those folks would be able to get Jon's most generous 'bid' at this time in the Christmas Holiday......I'd bet he'd go the whole $1000 upfront if Tanya asked him real nice........;)

Hate to see it go missing shipping it all over the place......just food for thought. :)

Junk Food for thought, Dudley.

If I know Peter (and I do, do you?) he will take pictures of the knife first. He has some great knives, and has top quality pictures of most of, if not all of them.

Me, I take scans of my knives which are not nearly as elegant, but get the job done.

Happy Holidays

Merry Christmas to you, too, STeven......

As to the latter......I have a pretty good idea.

Well Peter, The Scar maker is finished and Todd is putting a nice leather sheath together for it today.

I noticed you didn't reply to BossHoss's extremely generous offer.......and frankly, I am confused.......the scarmaker will never bring in more than $400-$500 in an auction/sale, there is nothing about it to warrant more than that(though of course I might argue the fact that it is a Begg knife makes it special...but I am certainly biased :D ), so BossHoss would be guaranteeing $1000.00 to the worthy cause you have chosen.

The point about it being shipped all over the place has me a little worried too......we had a Glimpse($950.00) go missing in the mail recently, after all this drama that would just put a cap on things wouldn't it???

I am sure BossHoss would send you a lovely photo to add to your portfolio, In fact I would be happy to pay for it myself and have a photo done by BladeGallery, right here in Seattle.

Waiting to hear your views.

Tanya

The games people play. If boss wants to pay 1K for a 400 knife, he can do it through the auction. If tntbegg is worried about the knife getting lost, insure it. Why not ship the thing and get this behind thee?

Bottom line, if tntbegg cared about customer service, the knife would have been done years ago when he restarted normal production. It's not right to leave someone in limbo for three years while you have current production for sale at your show table. Alll the excuses, offers, etc. is just noise to hide the fact that a customer has been let down.

If tntbegg cared about his reputation the firm would not continue to post in this thread until the knife was shipped.

Tanya,

I would suggest that you ship the knife to me via either by Fedex or US Postal Priority Mail with insurance, and a signature required for delivery. I will cover the cost of shipping it, in a similar manner to the final buyer.

I think sending it after the Christmas rush is a prudent idea, at this point. Please let me know the shipping method and tracking number.

After I have photographed the knife, I will offer it for sale starting at $1,000, on the BladeForum "For sale by individual" section. If BossHoss wishes to step to the plate and buy it he will have the opportunity to do so. If he does not, I will drop the knife $50 per day until it sells.

Best,

Peter

Brownshoe, read through the entire thread before making statements like that.

Don't start bashing people when you don't have all the facts.

Kind of confusing...sounds to me like the cause may have changed.

Folks, I offered to buy Peter's option to the the knife when it would have solved a few different situtations--we all know what they were.

At this point, I have many doubts that my involvement would result in any good.

I wish the Beggs and everyone else here on BF a wonderful holiday and a very happy New Year.

The cause hasn't changed. 100% of whatever the knife brings will go to Doctors without Borders.
My wife's company will also match the donation, dollar for dollar.

Joyeaux Noel et Bon Annee to all!

Peter is good to his word and will do what he says he will do.

Ptgdvc, look us square in the eye, and respond to the concerns/questions Mrs. Begg asked.

You seem to dodge the questions that, if answered, would show us your true nature.

The offer by BossHoss seemed to raise your asking price and turning down his offer has seemingly cast a shadow upon you, anyone who reads this whole post (all 4 pages) I'm sure will agree with me.

BladeGoblin,

As a matter of fact, I don't "agree" with you at all.

Todd Begg has finished the knife, and I am sure that the Beggs will deliver it to me next week.

I think that there are enough people on this Forum who know me, and have bought, sold and traded with me, who will vouch for my honesty.
If my word isn't good enough for you, I am sorry to hear it, but frankly it really doesn't concern me.

Best,

Peter

Since once again you have dodged the questions, I don't doubt you're an honest person to deal with, not at all.

My concern is that the money received from this free knife will go into your pocket, just pay the Begg's and be done with it.

Saying you're going to donate money, doesn't make it so.

Well, there's now another added to my ignore list. :jerkit:

Peter Gill is as good as they come, and that's all the people need to know.

I don't know what I did to deserve the honor Danbo, but I thank you.

If you read the whole post Danbo, you will see the Begg's offered Peter a blade from their table and also offered to purchase a Scarmaker from someone who had one on their table, he turned down both offers.

Now he turns down and offer of a thousand dollars, which is obviously more than this particular model is worth. Do the math, Peter's actions don't make sense to me.

If I am being ignored for speaking my mind, then I agree with your decision, but you can't honestly tell me that Peter's actions make any sense at all.
