Tony Bose Tribal Spear~New from Case!

I never measure blade length. For 200 years the length of a pocket knife has been measured closed cause that's what goes in you pocket. The blade goes from one end to the other when it's closed. Measuring blade length is a modern thing.

With all due respect, knife laws are a modern thing too. It can be important to some of us.

UPS shows mine will be rolling in tomorrow!!!

Looks good!

Gus, how was the edge? (Just curious since I intend to carry mine and am wondering if it'll need much in the way of a tune-up.)

Edge is scary sharp on this one Elliott. I know at the beginning of the series some had burrs, (at least that was the case with my slimline), but this one came ready to go to work arm hair shaving sharp out of the box.

That's good to hear. Thanks.

I've had a few that had burrs on 'em. The dogleg had a pretty significant one on it but sharpened up great once I took it to the stones.

Can't wait for UPS to get here tomorrow!

It weighs in at an even 3 OZ. and the blade length from the bolster (includes tang) is about 3 and 1/16" with a blade edge around 2 and 3/4" not including choil.

Edited to add.

One thing I did not show in the pictures. The blade is dead center between the relieved liners when closed.

So I started reading all the posts & then stopped,so I do not know if this is covered here

This knife has a pivot bushing in the pivot ?
The inlaid shields are pinned ??

If so & after seeing Gus' pics, very nice & Thanks Gus,I can't see how any one could think this set up is out of line, price wise.
It surey rivals a custom handmade,IMO.

Vince, I think they've been pinned since the second or third issue and I believe they've had bushings since the Muskrat but don't hold me to that. It may have been one before that.

Yep,I just wanted closure here as I am floored w/ this one & I may be partial to it :)

Like the others said, the knife looks outstanding. Does it have a half-stop? How is blade centering when closed. I would like to see a pic of that... :)

Thanks for the photos and the review.

Oh boy! That Tribal Spear is outta the ballpark! I'm gettin antsy now .... gonna be awhile longer for the stag one I ordered. I do love that bone though! Maybe I need two! :D

The knife does have a half stop with flush springs. Whole action is crisp and about a 6.5 to 7+ on a 1 - 10 pull scale. Closed the blade on this one sits dead center.

Tank you. That's all I needed to make up my mind. Ebony it is.

I believe Elliott is correct. Except for the level of finishing that is done, they are pretty much true to form the way Tony would make the knife.
