Tony Bose Tribal Spear~New from Case!

Gary, here's what Case said:

"Bone versions in July, Wood version in August, MOP & Stag versions in September."

Maybe they'll have the bone version at the Case event later this month.

That's a good lookin' knife, Steve. Can't argue with your taste.

I'm sorry if I missed the answer, or if I am a noob but...

Why is this knife not on case's website? How come no other dealers are selling this? Why is it so much more expensive than the CV swayback jack?

Thanks! =)

I'm not sure why it's not on Case's website yet, possibly because none have shipped yet.

Other dealers will have them too (I think).

It's so much more expensive because Tony Bose did the design, it's made to very exact specifications and assembled by the best people at Case. If you see one you will realize that it is as well made as almost any custom knife in that price range.

You can see more of Tony and Reese Bose's work here.

Hope that helps.

Is the swayback jack also by tony bose then? When it hits case's website, will the price go down?

Tony did do a swayback design for Case that sold at a higher price. And then Case made it a regular production knife.

The Bose Tribal Spear won't go down in price and they will probably sell out within a couple months.

how big are the blades on these? Trying to get a feel for how big this thing will be in my pocket/hand. I just noticed that I just wrote "will be". I guess that means my inner knife buying child has already made the purchase? =D

Tony or Kerry could probably give you an exact answer. The site is saying that the closed length is 4 1/8" so I would guess around 3 1/2.

I got a call yesterday. Some of the Antique bones are out and available.

Nice to hear, thanks guys!

All I know about are the bone ones.

I never measure blade length. For 200 years the length of a pocket knife has been measured closed cause that's what goes in you pocket. The blade goes from one end to the other when it's closed. Measuring blade length is a modern thing.

Thanks Tony. That makes perfect sense to me. All I really care about is the closed length.

Mine rolled into town today. It is cool from every angle. First thing that hits you is that bullocks shield. I am pretty sure I have never seen one on a Case knife. The fit and finish is remarkable. As I look back on 11 or 12 years worth of these collaborations, the first one was a shock to me as far as the quality and they are still getting better. The more subtle swedges on the "tribal spear" blade are crisp and even. Blade action is by far the best I have encountered on a modern production knife and the fluted bolsters add a nice touch to the whole package. Well done Case and Tony.

I will try to put some shots of the knife up tomorrow.
