That is not why I started this! The buyer has helped me with everything I asked of him, he had no idea Anthony was a thief! I posted this in hope that no one else would get ripped off and to get him banned from here. I'm ok with losing the money life lesson.

I didn't think that you were pushing that but I'm afraid legally it is probably true. I don't think anything would come of it but the fact remains that it is stolen and the new owner knows it. I wonder if he could file a claim through how ever he handled the payment method and transfer the money to you?

Then I would be out $800.00! I'm trying to help Clanton through other ways, PayPal, etc. We are asking the forum for help. And yes, I am not happy to have a knife that has all this "controversy". I buy here because we are all collectors and love knives. Honesty should be a given.

Wow, what a dumb move to sell it again on the same forum! A horrible theif... Could the current owner start a PP dispute with Tony then ship the knife to the original owner when he gets his money?

Quite the crook and dumber than a hog to boot......oh, wait, that makes hogs look bad.

You should list his full name and address and telephone number in your initial post so any google searches will show up if anyone or a future employer does a search with his real name. No employer will want to hire a known thief and the more accurate and full your contact info is the harder it will be for him to lie his way out of it in the future.

You also should try to find any forum he does business in and post up the same details and either link back to this thread or direct them to check this forum under his user name if links aren't allowed. If he threatens any legal action dare him to bring it on. I would also file a claim with the US Postal Inspectors office for the record even though they won't be able to do anything about it.

On 12-28-13 I posted an ZT 0888 fore sale here.
http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1139204-Zt-0888
On 12-31-13 I got a P.M from Tonydeuce (Anthony) saying he would like to buy the knife. He said he was in England and asked if I would ship it to him there. I told him I'd never shipped anything international and needed instructions on how to ship and for him to pay for it. He agreed and sent me instructions and the money to my Paypal. I shipped the knife on 1-2-14 tracking # 420001220000999320. My mistake was listening to the lady at the post office she said she could save me a few dollars I said it was an important package and as long as it got there I didn't care.

I'm going to skip a few months of emails (which I still have all of) I felt terrible he "did not get his knife" because I felt like I made a mistake in shipping he came up with splitting the cost. I thought it sounded fair but I was short on cash so I sent him another knife (value$250) and I sent $150 by Paypal.

Skip a few more months and Tonydeuce posts an 0888 for sale here. At first I thought no way he would do that. So I sent him a P.M. asking for a pic of the knife with the Serial number. He said to never contact him again he lost hundreds on the deal and put it behind him. So I did,but I also contacted the member who bought the knife (Cerucker) he has been great and stayed in contact with me the whole time. I asked Him to tell me the serial number of the knife when he got it, it's # 137 the same knife in my post! And I also have lots of pictures of the knife and the shipping container.

I know I'm never going to get my money back I just don't want him to rip off someone else here. If any of you guys have any advice for me please contact me.

Thanks,
Ron

Ron,

Using words like: "thief & liar" are sometimes excessive, however, in your case (in lieu of this compelling evidence), it appears 100% warranted! I could just picture the reaction on your face, at the initial moment you learned from, cerucker, that he bought YOUR knife, (that Tonydeuce claimed was lost). Unfreakingbelievable!!!

What a brazen piece of garbage, lying thief, this #%$&%@ is!

I have $100 betting that this member will not have the courage to come on here & face the music (you are excluded in this proposition, Tonydeuce). FYI: a deuce is a term that is used by CHP law enforcement when they pull over drunk drivers.

Best of luck, Ron; I sincerely hope that you are able to have a positive outcome regarding this very bizarre deception/theft of your knife.

(Edit: I'm a half awake dork who didn't pay attention to the link in the first post. )

I'm sorry you were screwed over. I've got to hand it to you for your steadfast refusal to kick the shit downhill to the new buyer. I rather doubt t.d. would have.

Clanton, please don't forget to add NEGATIVE feedback to Tony Deuce's page for this transaction please. That will stick out when people look for feedback.

Clanton, have you filed a complaint with PayPal yet? There's a very good chance they will refund your money, as it is in their business interest to track down and exclude scammers from their service. You have a tracking number which proves you sent a thing, and hopefully you have proof of prior ownership of the blade to compare with his sale listing (which you should save a copy of it you have not yet).

Also, was it a locking knife? If so I believe those are illegal to own on Knife Crime Island, and you should get the British police involved. There's a lot better chance of getting your money back if there's a police report, and you have a better chance of getting a police report if they can nab him for a crime that looks good in their arrest stats.

It's probably too late for the OP to submit a claim to PP since it's been so long ago. However, maybe the next buyer could contact PP stating they have proof the knife was stolen and could get refunded and then send the money to Clanton? I'm not sure how PayPal would handle that situation.

Good idea, can the OP direct the buyer to this thread?

Wow that sucks. And a brazen thief & liar to boot.

Liberatus & Alex had good suggestions: PayPal can do more than close his account: if it's linked to a bank account or cc, they can and have seized refunds from accounts with no prior notice. I kinda doubt they'll do that since it was not an Ebay deal, but it can't hurt to ask.

I'm sure im preaching to the choir now, but I've sold a lot on Gunbroker & Flea-bay and always pay for delivery confirmation, and insurance if it's over $50.

I don't sell anything worth over $100 on Flea-bay anymore since it's too easy to get screwed by buyers.

Best of luck. We're all rooting for you.

For what it's worth, I think the way the two victims are working together on this is absolutely admirable. I know that it has come at a fairly steep cost, but it's good to see that kind of stand-up behaviour under pretty poor circumstances. In my mind it speaks volumes about your integrity.

Be sure to notify US Postal Inspector. It will be good for the jerk to have a record to mess him up if he ever wants to visit USA.

That's a british blades profile you should report your findings to a mod there , I think cross forum warnings should be in place as a uk seller/buyer it's hard enough with customs let alone this kind of shit. Good luck I'm gonna pm a few mates on BB.
