Maybe OP can kick in too. He knows way more than I do. OP what is a good one for under $70?

The Edradour was 69.98 and the 12yr Caol Ila 59.98.

I'm ont he Caol Ila now. I'll say that I have been on a very good Scotch bin of late so at $60 it is at a big handicap. That said....

It doesn;t have any bad qualities and oddly it had a coco flavor to the finish. Never had that before. But if you like smoothness it is not super smooth. I just had some 14 yr Oban whcih is my benchmark. The Oban had more flavor up front but is not as smooth. So the Caol must be smoother than I first thought. The Coal is lighter overall.

I may add more later.

#2 Edradour "The un-chillfiltered Collection"

Short story for $70 just go buy it :thumbup: You may find it for less at some online stores my shop isn't the cheapeset but he saves me from buying junk.


This is big on flavor from start to finish and is smooth enough with a classic bite. Don't add much ice or water when the ice melted it lost some of its charm. As compared to some of the great ones I have had it only lacks in the finish being kind of hard with not a great after taste.

This is on par with any and every great Scotch I have ever had.

Extremely smooth for a Scotch not especially flavorful at first and then it just explodes with flavor and continues to change its complexity even after it goes down (sounds like a girl I knew too). Then after it is out of your mouth the flavors stay for several minutes and some way longer. It is worth $135.00. :thumbup: :thumbup: :thumbup:

But hell don't start here the fun is in the journey here :cool: :thumbup:

Don't sleep all day!!!! Wake up! I wish I could lay down but, when I do, it feels like my head will crack open!!!!

Well, I have learned it doesn't matter how much it costs or how good it is, if you drink too much of it, you're going to pay for it in the morning. At the point where you passed the "Too much", you just can't quit then, you have to stay drunk the rest of your life not to feel bad! That might get spendy if you have Tony's taste in booze. :eek:
