Top Ten Observations To Date

CS: LeatherHOG (as well as some other long time Hogs) are full of lots of history and valuable input. So are some of the new timers.

In regards to mentality/attitude etc... You will see a wide array of attitudes and reactions from us on the Busse forums. And I know this reflects on the company.

But if you search for the responses by Jerry and Erik and Dan (the bosses) you will see they are ALWAYS curtious, polite, informative, and helpful (though incoherent at times). To the point that the old addage "the customer is always right" still rings true.

:)

Actually I was looking for this photo that is right next to the "Pink Warden"

It is my favorite knife photo.

Here, here! Well said and good advice.

If you haven't already signed off CS, I just wanted to say you're probably one of many who have peeked in on this little world and thought those things. I only found this forum last year some time, and at first thought the some of the same things you've illustrated. The main difference was my first personal contact with anyone was with Eric Isaacson, the moderator of the Swamp Rats, and the one who runs thier store. He was the nicest helpful guy, and had never heard from me before. Once I got that thing (an M6), I couldn't get over it. It started a new collection in my expanding knife collection, and not to be a cliche, No Friggin Regrets. It's easy to forget sometime that it's really about the knives, ya know?

Tony, does that girl have butt implants, or is that real? I mean come on! You could bounce an FBM off of that thing.

You know that is a difficult question... since I don't know her.

At times it is nealy imposile to tell. Case in point... I dated this woman for about a year and she had an awsome rack. Afert a year I was never sure if they were real:eek:

Her former husband was a Hollywood producer so if she had an aftermarket job she likely had one of the best Drs around. They were dam near perfect and she was 37 so I was suspicious. But I just could not tell and it started to bug me so I’d actually leave the lights just a bit bright just so I could hunt for scars. I'd watch her in the hot tub to see if they floated, used ever investigative trick I knew. I stopped just short of a tumor exam a few times and I just could feel anything. So I’d lean towards real in that case since she was in playboy when she was about 23.

But t still bugs me that I'm not sure:grumpy: I may need to revisit that investiagtion some day. :D

What is this world coming too when a man has to wonder of such things? I do like your kind of troubles though, bro.

I've recently acquired my first Busse... after being a completely fresh face to Busse, never knowing of them, I was convinced to go out of my way, dip into the savings for a Fusion Battle Mistress, as it was coming out of production...

It arrived.

It looked bigger and felt better than I could have imagined.

It owns ALL other knives I've ever owned.

It dismantled my brothers old wardrobe in about 5 minutes... without a single dink or damage to the blade.

It has retained its edge and hasn't needed sharpening...

.......This was a double wardrobe......

Busse rocks, INFI does exactly what it says on the tin, and more! I will be only ever buying Busse knives in the future...

They are beautiful

They are incredibly well made

They are even MORE incredibly tough

They will make me poor.... ;)

...... oh, and the team at Busse are the best guys around... :D

Just my small input... I love 'em, and will get my next one this year when I've moved out...

Cheetah,
Welcome to the Busse forum, I'm glad that you stopped by. I hope you stick around and join in our discussions. If you spend some time talking, emailing, and dealing with some of the Busse owners you'll soon see that many (if not all) of your perceptions are incorrect.

I'd be happy to answer any of your questions directly just drop me an email ratknives@insightbb.com

If you choose not to email me I hope that you at least stick around and watch how well this group get's along. It is by far one of the most active forums on BF and yet there are very few disagreements among our members. This is not because of some old guard or buddy system, it is just because of how helpful and generous the Busse Customers are. I hope you stick around long enough to see this

:D:D

Somehow I feel I need to share my thoughts and bring this thread back on track. What a strange attitude shown by CS!
He has hardly ever posted on bladeforum so -no matter how long he's been lurking around and how big his knife collection is- he is a newbie. And what is his first post?
Basically, "I might honour you with my presence in this club but before that you will need to change so and so".
He can try that trick in any sort of social gathering, be it for work or pleasure, I am sure he will get an interesting response. With that line of thinking, I would suggest he goes to his nearest MC and tell the boys: "I'll accept to join you but you need to change those colours and ride japanese". Could be fun!
Instead of that, he receives numerous welcomes, an offer to try a knife free from a perfect stranger, suggestions to hang around more... Long time Hogs and yound piglets bending over backward to try to make him feel more relaxed and enjoy the experience.
Does that make him happy? No, he packs it all in a neat bunch and throws it back in our face.
Morimotom is a little defensive? CS almost throws a tantrum. And this is a member that has always jumped in when I or someone else had a question (probably irritating because so obvious for an old hand). Yet always a nice, helpful answer. Another one joined a thread where I asked about blasting caps (we are both looking for one). We had never "chatted" before. His sig line still says he needs 2 (now you know who that is ;) ).
I live in a small Island across the pond. I have a few knives, and one Busse, a Black Skeleton Warden from Company's store. My post count shows I am fairly new as well. When I first discovered this forum, I tried to see if it was for me. And I discovered a real community.
Do I consider myself a piglet? No. I was extremely impressed by my SW, and may one day buy a FBMLE, but time difference means I do not take much part although I "know" quite a few of the individuals. And I would not hesitate to ask for advice or opinions. But I would not even think of changing any single one of them, let alone the whole bunch!
I believe it's a telling sign that this forum decided to ban a specific smilie: it had no place here.
From what he has shown tonight, I would say neither does CS.

(edit: see another reason I do not consider myself a piglet. None of them rejected you. I am quite prepared to do it. Shows I need to learn)

all i can say is stay around and actually become part of this wierd community and you will either confirm these points or feel like you were way wrong.....

Thats cos they're all such a nice bunch o' hogs and gents!

LMAO! ;)

:D

I think that CS needs to stick around... when I started, I read a lot, and Busse, after finding out from another manufacturers forum that they were meant to be the best, has the nicest friendliest forum on here I think...

You are well entitled to your opinions, but I have to say that I'd not have come into this forum stating that... unless I was looking for a spot of fiery banter.... but thats IMO, not necessarily anyone elses.. but people here won't bash you and throw you around, I believe that the hogs replies to your 'provocative' kinda post, is a testament to how nice these guys are :)

CS, I also started out pooping in the kingdom of Busse. Do a search on my early threads, started by me, in the outdoor forum I believe. It's titled enough and goodbye;) At that time I already had all 4 of the Straight Handled knives offered at the time. If you look at that thread you will see some attitudes to include mine.
Since then I've had to sell all but 1 of my Busse's of which I believe I had a modest 18 or so. I have since started to build again. There is my 1 of 100 (from Jerry's own evaluation) SHBM that was returned to me by a couple of VERY sneaky but great Hogs who I count as true gentlemen and friends.
My point is that if you hang around a while, ask questions and gain some knowledge about Busse knives AND the different people on this forum you will find NO better people in any other forums. They will help you out in more ways then you can imagine.
If you have any questions you can email me at mills11b3@aol.com

BTW
I BLAME PORKERSON!!!!!!:D

Before the "Fusion" juggernaut, there was the E line. A very basic, no nonsense line of knives based on perfomance and ergonomics first, looks were secondary. We could get a SHe for 300, sell it for 300 all day. Used Busse's didnt lose much value, only the GFD's and variants were priced out there. I came into the mix at the ending of the Straight Handle phase, an even more basic knife. Those of us that have collected and used Busse's during both the Straight Handle and E-handle times are kind of looked at as the "Old Guard" or Old Hogs if you like. :p

LeatherHOG nailed it on this one. I came in way after him, but I've seen the same phenomenon in the year or so I've been around. The Fusion line was up and running, and prices were already starting to creep up, up , up. I did manage to get some straights but no E's. I've been looking for a BM-E to complete a "set," but they are going for pretty crazy prices. Two years ago, you find For Sale threads for a BM-E in the $300 range. Now they're in the $500 to $600 range. SHBMs and SHSHs, on the other hand, are listing for over a thousand.

FriendofBill's, A good point as it is about the knives and well taken. It is also about the attitude as well IMO.

hawkinsa21, Thanks for your input. I am glad it is working out well for you. Best of luck with the next one you desire.

Can we bring back the banned smiley for one day please? ;)

I'll say this - more generous gifting/discounting/non-profiteering goes on here than you'll ever know. It goes on under PM's and emails. Even for newbies.
