Any of you folks have experience with the folding Fieldcraft knife? I really like the looks of it but the blade is sold out everywhere!

Alone that is one sexy skinner right there. Need to let me put a mirror edge on that thing to seal the deal. I just bought me a new skinner arriving today (Esse-3 S35VN) but if I hadn't already, I'd be on that. Goodlookin knife brotha ! Looks new.

One more question. Does blood stain that micarta handle ?

Thanks John, can't wait to use in on my next buck. Been using a cheap Gerber that I have to sharpen often. I never really been into fixed blades but this forum has my mouth watering, THINGS GOING TO CHANGE ROUND HEYA !

Not that I have noticed. It's one of those designs that is fun to use, and often find myself looking for more things to cut.

Since that pic, I have rubbed off patina several times, but it has grown much darker over time.

I like it so much I bought a "back up" lol.

I think the Rocky Mountain scales could potentially get sore without gloves, but the normal scales are wonderful. Not quite a broomstick, so locating the knife is easy in hand.

I haven't hunted with it. So, I have no idea.

I do want to say that I got some blood on it the night that I cut myself with it. That did not stain it, but I hate to say for sure if you were doing something like processing an animal.

I believe the toothbrush and warm water and a little soap method works well, for me at least.

Nice stuff.
I only have a few Tops knives. But I'm impressed.

I'm currently looking for about a 3 inch, thin bladed, flat ground with a decent sized handle, fixed blade.
Lot's of short fat ones.
Sometimes the search itself is enjoyable so....

Pasayten

I love TOPS blades, but their ergonomics are horrible for my hands. All the lumps and bumps seem to always be in the wrong place. This Pasayten just might be the one that changes that though. I recently got the TOPS Wolf Pup XL and the blade was perfect and the handle unusable for me, so I gave it away.

Even then I think the back end of the handle on the Pasayten is a bit low.
