Traditional and Modern pairings

GEC #33 with my newest non traditional knife. I think I'll be prepared for anything that comes my way

The wind was a torrent of darkness among the gusty trees,
The moon was a ghostly galleon tossed upon cloudy seas,
The road was a ribbon of moonlight over the purple moor,
And the highwayman came riding—
Up to the old inn-door. He'd a French cocked-hat on his forehead, a bunch of lace at his chin,
A coat of the claret velvet, and breeches of brown doe-skin,
A fine ebony jackknife tucked in his boot
Nary a wrinkle
And he rode with a jeweled twinkle,
His pistol butts a-twinkle,
His rapier dagger's hilt a-twinkle,
Under the jeweled sky.

Is that a dagger or a sword? Who made it?

I dont carry a modern anymore except for work. Out of all the moderns folders I have went through this is the one I keep comming back to. Cheap enough where you dont mind beating the crap outta it and tough enough to take it....Ontario Rat1....only modern I really need...

I own 3 modern knives. ZT0350, Kershaw Leek and a Kershaw Blur.

The leek gets carried often along with a traditional. The Leek is my weak spot when it comes to a modern knife.

However I own over 100 traditionals.

My daily carries often look like this

HFinn, I apologize I did not see your question sooner. It is a left handed parrying dagger used in conjunction with a primary weapon in the right hand, mine being a rapier. They were use mainly in the early Renaissance
This one is an ornamental piece I acquired many years ago when I was very much into sword fighting. I cannot remember the maker and its not marked. The ones we used for performance fighting had the edges and tips abraded so that we would be less likely to harm one another.

Here are a few of my favorites. I will choose one oho and 90% of the time it's either the peanut or the single blade buck. The other case and buck stockman have too much sentimental value to chance being lost. The mini 7 is new and awesome!

Thank's. I am also in to that kind of thing, my main weapon has been longsword for several years, but right now I am getting into Bolognese fencing. I had a brush with rapier fencing too.
