You got that wrong, I don’t think I have a favorite Laguiole maker. Jérôme Latreille, Mathieu Herrera, Lamic, Beillonet, Fabien Rozelier and Virgilio Munoz are amongst them.Virgilio Munoz is obviously your favorite laguiole maker. Can you please share what it is about his knives that you like so much?
My twin girls are just the same. If it is flashlights or self inflating camping mats. They never come back in one pieceI think I need an Opinel with an INOX blade. I lent my daughter my No. 8 a few weeks back because she needed a locking blade for her Girl Scout camping trip. She gave it back to me with the blade rusty and the blade slot stained black with rust.
Despite my best efforts that girl does not seem to understand that carbon steel rusts and must be kept clean and dry. It seems some people are just meant for stainless.

Regarding Munoz, I just love his stickling for details and his out of the box thinking and creativity. He can do as well exceedingly opulent knives as very basic and simple blades, each and every one with the same degree of mastery. The more he is a very nice gentleman, but so are Jerome Latreille and Fabien Rozelier, another two masters I had the luck to meet.
Many thanks, Charlie. I found it interesting, because of the non virabloc, yet it seemed to be re-hafted, albeit with older wood. A sweet collection you have there.Great picture, Harvey; of an interesting knife!!
Yes, it's pistachio and a very good luck of the draw. Most of that wood I've seen isn't nearly as well figured. If it's any help, the place I ordered from had an equally well figured one pictured.Pistachio? I don't know what it is about that design, but I think I want one.
More like Good Friday.... That's quite a group right there!Great picture, Harvey; of an interesting knife!!
Here are some Black Friday celebrants!!View attachment 1904748
Fantastic that Briar, fine colour and good thick slabs for grip. The end of the knife or tail looks unusual, sort of reminds me of what I think is called Pigeon Wing Laguiole (aile de pigeon?) which is an intricate version but it has that kind of segmented tail, very effective.Virgilio Munoz with briar wood scales.
