Traditional French Fry day

Just got this in a couple of hours ago and once again astounded by the genius that is Opinel  The Oyster knife in on the big No.9 handle and makes complete sense-leverage. The short Arrow type blade-stainless and stamped also has the locking collar, a good precaution!

Now where to get Oysters here??? And they will cost...but it offers other interesting prying options, the blade is sturdy and short, good for splitting open other things, pieces of wood, maybe walnuts, scoring chestnuts? Whatever, think it looks very cool.

I image the blade must be much less hard than the regular Opinels. The blades on the regular carbon ones at least snap pretty readily - at least in my experience :D🤣

Spectacular knife!!! Please explain the term "six handed"!!??
Sure looks like a Laquiole to me???
Thank you. 😊
Sorry I didn't respond quickly but Jolipapa Jolipapa translated my thoughts perfectly.

It is a Laguiole but as the blade was forged by Davide who is Sardinian, officially it is not a Laguiole. 🤷‍♂️
It was a little wink to the war that some Laguiole entrepreneurs are waging against the Thiers knifemakers or others who make Laguiole knives. 🤣
I may be wrong but I understand it is a 3 men venture, Davide Steri, François Seichal, Pierre-Yves Joyeux, completion going through six hands.
Correct, thank you for making up for my lack of response 🙏
That is gorgeous!!
Thanks 😊

Six hands make beautiful work!!! In this case, there were not too many "cooks"!!!

Nice knife!! Opinel is very creative!!!
P.S. They also have a special knife for scoring châtaignes!! 😅

Yes, I'd hope so! The regular carbons/stainless are thin stock known for slicing ability- stop that prying!!!🤣 The Oyster seems thicker, it's stubby and it is unedged a good thing when opening wet shellfish:eek:
