Traditional "Holy Grail" Knife: What's Your Pick?

Puts The Great Exhibition Norfolk in the shade:D

Craftsmanship is well and truly thriving, magnificent project:thumbup:

Willgoy,

You obviously haven't seen the famous Joseph Rodgers Norfolk exhibition knife "in the flesh" so to speak. Nothing, I repeat NOTHING, has ever come close to equalling that exhibition knife. Nor is it ever likely to. If you don't believe me, ask Mick!! This Stan Shaw knife that Mick owns, and is quite rightly proud of, is not in the same class.

Jim Taylor.

Any of these would work for me

Yo Vince, didn't you already get your Holy Grail knife from Tony? :p

Yes,but now there are new "Grails" on the horizon,Mike. I have not yet figured away to put out the fire  Probably never will, either. But it's fun, though.

Might have to chip in and send Vince one of these, though I doubt there's enough pressure in Suffolk County to put out that particular fire...:p

Man,that would be fun right about now,it's smokin' here

Nice try Elliott! This one's for you!

From "We didn't start the fire" by Billy Joel

We didn't start the fire
It was always burning
Since the world's been turning
We didn't start the fire
No we didn't light it
But we tried to fight it

I should have just read the first post and replied. But I began looking at the posts. Now, I am hopelessly incapable of deciding what my grail knife would be. Too many super customs out there to make a choice. Elliot is always posting those wonderful customs. Wow! is all I can say.

Y'all pick yours and I'll just pick up what's left over.

EJ

I am so glad that I'm not the only one that feels this way!

Steve:

You know when you've seen something special. That knife is absolutely the epitome of craftmanship and tradition. It is truely fabulous. It's already been said - "Elliot already has your grail knife."

I love this thread and this forum. There are some nice tactical knives out there, but they just aren't in the same league as these wonderful traditionals.

Ed

Aw c'mon you guys...:o

The one thing that makes that knife particularly special is the maker himself.
If you are ever fortunate enough to know him as I do, you'll fully understand why.

Thanks for the kind thoughts and words.

My dream knife right now is a Lanny's Clip made by Kerry Hampton.

No pic, but I love the Stag LK Elliott has. I think I'll go with a shadow when my name comes up.

You can't go wrong with that pattern or that maker. I think you'll be very pleased!

i once again am at a loss for the ability to post a pic but, i will mention one i have sought for many years and that is a buck 317

The Erickson Cattle Knife that Blue has but.....

Same size and make in a Congress frame with a splitback spring configuration and add ivory scales and fluted bolsters

I didn't know a thing so gorgeous could exist - that is plain wonderful, that knife

(Quite like the Bose sowbelly at the head of the thread too )

My grail is this - Ingram large sodbuster - got one coming in November (already got it's little brother)

Thanks, Noddy. I was fortunate to find that old Winchester at the Blade Show a few years back while traipsing the aisles with Charlie (waynorth). It caught my eye tucked away in the back of a display case and the rest is history. It's a good one.:cool:

Pipedreams's Scagel #11 :) . I finally saved up the cash for it and decided to get one, but the retailer was out of them and unable to get more. Like they say, you snooze, you loose.
