Traditional "Holy Grail" Knife: What's Your Pick?

As a Schrade collector, some day I hope to find one of these. In the meantime I enjoy the hunt.

This one is Barry's. It is a beauty.

Hey no fair you copied me!

It's 4.5" closed and it'll pull your pants down at about 9 ounces!!!

(Seems to be a theme of late. ;))

Elliot that is one very nice 'nail.
Thank you for adding that to my dream list.

I have this fantasy of finding one of these in the wild some day. Like coming across an old stash, the ultimate fantasy is one paired with a 2OT, both in that original hinged box. If I find two 80T's, I'll give you first dibs.

Now, I have fantasies of that sort, Hal, but they're usually not about knives.
What's wrong with me!?!?

:p

This T. Bose Lanny's Clip would be the one for me! Everything is perfect on this knife. I love the clip blade. The cut swedge is perfection. Rat tail filed bolster and knock out Sambar stag.......I'm feeling faint here! :D;)

I've been on Tony's list for a #8 Gent's Wharncliffe for about 5 years, so that'd be my grail of slipjoints.

I haven't counted but it seems like the preference for single blades versus multi-blades is pretty well balanced (thus far).

You and me think alot alike. I dream of walking into an antique shop and there one is, obviously never used, but a good age patina, full blades, full handles. I think I'd cry. And I'll take your deal. And same goes to you too if I find two lol

I'm such a knife slut, I don't think I could ever have a grail knife. Every time I see a custom slippie by any of the top makers, I drool and froth and swear it's the best I've ever seen.
Then the next day, it all happens again. I'm hopeless.

Well said! I forgot to mention that the knife I posted is todays grail knife. I think I already changed my mind:

Grail knife to a Buckaholic......well a slipjoint Buckaholic.

A Buck 117, Lifeboat folder. The very first Buck slipjoint. When the Buck "Works" was a lean-to on a garage. Being in Southern CA after the big war,and to offer a folding knife along with some ole knife called the 110, some surplus wartime lifeboat knives were bought and the blades replaced with Mr.Bucks own hand made blades. Not many were ordered or made. And are a rare (and costly) item today. Up near the T.Bose range.
300Bucks P.S. watch out for fakes.

Peregrin, That damascus is stunning. I should have just read the first post and replied. But I began looking at the posts. Now, I am hopelessly incapable of deciding what my grail knife would be. Too many super customs out there to make a choice. Elliot is always posting those wonderful customs. Wow! is all I can say.

Y'all pick yours and I'll just pick up what's left over.

The problem with the Holy Grail is that it ended the search

But letting my imagination run....

A shlockman!

A 3 1/2" or 3 5/8" serpentine frame
With a Sheepsfoot as the main blade, and a small pen blade
A clip blade at the back
Fluted bolsters
All in ATS 34
Covered in Stag

No picture yet........

I'm easy. . . . .

1. Any 4(+) bladed slipjoint from Tony or Reese Bose.

2. A slipjoint from Kit Carson.

Sometimes. . . .dreams can come true. LMAO

*not necessarily in the above order* :D
