Traditional Knife and Gun Picture Thread

Nice Fallow, Jack, looks like the 9.3x62. I, too, prefer a good medium bore.
It is mate, and I agree they’re such a good all rounder not much they can’t do.

I’ve been hunting pretty well exclusively with the flintlock the past few years but had a couple of issues with it just before this years rut. Ended up taking the 9.3 out for most of it, very handy in tight quarters on red stags.

Perfect… what’s the caliber of that cap and ball?
Honestly, no idea. It's a relic I inherited from my dad and for as long as I can remember, the internals have been toast. It looks great sitting on a shelf!

I did also inherit both a Ruger Old Army .45 and a Pietta Navy .44 replica from him. Still haven't fired either one, a decade on.

Re-visiting this because you piqued my curiosity. I'm going to hazard a guess that this little pistol is a .32 cal since I measured the barrel at .344 and .351. It is pretty heavily corroded.

Also, another correction, the Pietta Navy I mentioned is a .36 cal. Saving for some photos later on.

I love guns, but my true mistress is knives.

Poetic, and I must say that I do agree, but a gun truly has one function, a noble one at that, but knives can have the same function along with more! The primitive attraction of a knife is just much more for me.

Both are important, like with everything you must have respect for those tools. Sadly that is starting to be lost nowadays. Everything has its place & niche with what it's good at. It's one of the first things my dad taught me, respect & how to properly use those tools.

I have similar thoughts draggat draggat I've noticed myself moving away from modern stuff & going back to traditional knives & hammer guns. There's just something that feels right about them, not to mention they just go together 😉

Btw I enjoy y'all's posts on this thread 👍
