That one is a squirrel getter for sure. My dad has used a standard blued version since the 70's. Hard to say just how many squirrel that one has busted over the years.

The double stack 1911's in 45ACP had the same "problem" or "issue" ...
Oh well. As the old Sit-Com alleged .... "8 Is Enough" (but it don't hurt none to carry an extra mag or two ... or three ... )

My bed side bump-in-the-night is a double stack .45 Glock 30. Its grip is borderline. I have a 30s with the slightly smaller grip, that I traded for at the start of the pandemic, that I've never have shot...hmmm
I think the problem with the DE was the front to back distance necessitated by the .44 Mag. In any event its a big handful of gun
