Traditional Knife Photoshop Fun

If anything, this process is giving me a lot of ideas for future knives :) It is interesting to learn some of the design principles that go into these things...like picking a shield. I had a lot of ideas in my head that I thought would look good but they just didn't (bomb shield for example) once I saw it mocked up. The shape of this knife, the size and the blade all play into which shield looks aesthetically pleasing and proper. The star shield with the star stamp works. The bar shield works for this pattern in every material I've put together thus far. It seems that rounded shapes are less appealing than the straight lines and corners. It will be interesting to see what the polls say when we get to that.
What is the star stamp you mention here?

Is that the tidioute shield without the print?
That one is called a banner shield. It is a lot bigger, normally, than the other shields and, my guess, has plenty of room for folks that want to actually inscribe something on the banner. I haven't really seen it used on many GEC knives but it seems to work pretty well for this pattern thus far.

I was considering passing on this years BF knife but Darren’s waverave waverave beautiful renditions have changed my mind.
Thanks Alan I'm glad I could change your mind :):thumbsup::thumbsup:
If I'm being honest here, most of the forum knives from the past don't really appeal to me that much and this one is no exception. I think it is just the nature of a group-chosen knife design. But I think it is a lot of fun being part of the process to put it all together and I'll cherish it just the same.

Now I see it, thanks!
I like the houndstooth or the crown shield on Ebony (or AB).
The checkering would be cool but I have my doubts about feasibility.
Its a tiny little star...like the Pemberton of stars :)
