I didn't think I'd like the star shield right from the start. But that picture proves it! It just looks all kinds of wrong to me. Sorry![]()
Super StarNot everyone can reach the stars (cuz they are out of this world!).![]()

I'm all good with the diamond, not my favorite, but I'm fine with it.If your opinion holds, I'll just be starry-eyed. All of my star-gazing will have been pointless (unless we get a diamond shield, I guess--it has points!).
What are you hoping for? Bar?I'm all good with the diamond, not my favorite, but I'm fine with it.
Agree 100%!I didn't think I'd like the star shield right from the start. But that picture proves it! It just looks all kinds of wrong to me. Sorry
I think the longer handle on this knife will look better with a longer shield, there are so many in this thread that Darren did that it would be hard to pick a favorite. I'm open to MANY different types, just not that star.
That's a tough question. I'll have to see what's offered as an option. But, off the top of my head, I'd say a bar would be good, or the swell bar, or the orleans, or the hounds tooth, or... Anything traditional looking. Lots of good options, but I'd like to see something on the longer/thinner side. If I'm being honest, all the options look good to me except the star. Don't know what it is that rubs me the wrong way about it, but I've never cared for it. Well, if I'm being totally honest, there are other shields that I don't care for, most of them are on the cute side, like the banana or the guitar or the boot or... I think you get my point. What are you hoping for? Bar?

And I feel much more comfortable talking about the stuff I like rather than the stuff I don't like.
I will buy the knife with whatever shield is on it, unless it's a bullet shield. That’s fair. I think a lot of options will look good. I just hope it is something a little more unique than what GEC has been doing recently (although the Templar ruins really unique!).
Are you saying the bullet bites?I will buy the knife with whatever shield is on it, unless it's a bullet shield.
LolAre you saying the bullet bites?
Sorry took so long...but what handle material did you want? A Northfield or Tidioute?Maybe a GEC #35 clip, sheepsfoot and crown lifter with a bail on one end?
I would hope that bullet shield isn't an option for this knife at all. It only makes some sense on a gunstock knife IMO (I think it looks sensational on the 44). You are right though even in artistic taste it doesn't help that argument at allLol![]()

Let's just say the Star is a "No for me", but I'd still buy the knife.
The bullet is however a deal-breaker and I would not purchase the knife.
It's hard enough these days to convince people that a pocket knife is a tool and NOT a weapon. Putting a bullet on the cover kind of ruins the argument.
No problem! Let's keep it easy, in ebony tidoute, long pull on the main blade.Sorry took so long...but what handle material did you want? A Northfield or Tidioute?
