Traditional Knife Photoshop Fun

Alright, Darren. I need to enlist your skills to gain some momentum for some checkered wood and scratted bone. Can you make some mock ups for those? How about a checkered ebony with a star and a scratted bone with no shield?

Is checkered ebony something that has been done before? Wondering if there is a photo somewhere.

No man, thank YOU!

If GEC can do checkering, I'm going to lobby for it as much as folks will tolerate.
It looks awesome! I am down...will mock it up I'm pretty sure it is going to look great.

waverave waverave You are making this tougher. I would want one of each. That scratted is killer.
If anything, this process is giving me a lot of ideas for future knives :) It is interesting to learn some of the design principles that go into these things...like picking a shield. I had a lot of ideas in my head that I thought would look good but they just didn't (bomb shield for example) once I saw it mocked up. The shape of this knife, the size and the blade all play into which shield looks aesthetically pleasing and proper. The star shield with the star stamp works. The bar shield works for this pattern in every material I've put together thus far. It seems that rounded shapes are less appealing than the straight lines and corners. It will be interesting to see what the polls say when we get to that.
