Traditional knives and records

I got nothing, L lambertiana ! I had a couple of guesses about the top LP, but some googling convinced me that neither was correct. (I even googled "rock sextets" for the first one, and came up with nothing I considered promising.)

The rock sextet is Tycoon. That album came out in 1979, and had a top 40 hit (Such a Woman).

That bone looks awesome! I didn't know there used to be a cutlery shop in what I call "the mall". :D
Thanks for the additional pic.

That is stag, with a lot of pocket wear.
Before the internet, there were knife stores at most malls. Cutlery World was a big chain.

Any guesses on the second album? It came out in 1977.

Looking at all of these band names reminds me of a story.....One of my friends was giving his daughter a hard time about a band called "Red Jumpsuit Apparatus" and how many band names in her childhood time didn't make much sense to him. She looked at him and without missing a beat said "Blue Oyster Cult"! She dropped the mic and walked off stage.....LOL. He looked at her and said well played my dear, well played!

Led Zeppelin IV

Are those bone covers on that Colonial?
Bingo again, Todd!! :thumbsup::thumbsup:

(I realized that if I uploaded my pics as attachments here, and the attachment was opened (in a new tab), the name of my picture file appeared as the "title" of the tab. So I have to remember to "disguise" my file names before I upload them here, so I don't give away the answers.)

I really don't know if the Colonial electrician's knife has bone covers. My guess is yes, based on how it looks and feels, but most Colonials with which I'm familiar are the "shell" construction with celluloid or other synthetic for covers. Also, I've seen similar white-handled Colonial electricians online with advertising printed on the covers; don't think i've ever seen that on bone. Here's a closer view of the knife FWIW:

"Blue Oyster Cult" doesn't make sense?

Although I posted a jazz record a few pages before,
I know the "Frankenchrist" album from Dead Kennedys.
Some Rocka-/Psychobilly sound on the guitars on some tracks, pretty cool:cool:.

No Jethro Tull! :D

That was quick, you guy's are good!
Nifebrie, you might wan't to check out some of East Bay Ray's solo stuff, he is a great guitar player.
jwb01, that is the "This Was" lp

I didn't recognize the cover, but I recognized the man on the silver mountain.

I'll assume you're aware of Elf, but for those that aren't, Elf was Ronnie James Dio's band before he hooked up with Ritchie Blackmore of Deep Purple to form Rainbow (basically just Elf+Blackmore). Elf wasn't "metal" yet, not really. Just good, dirty, rock and roll. Some songs, however, hinted at Dio's future as a metal god.

If you look on youtube, you can find bootleg recordings of Elf live, including a full concert where they cover Jethro Tull, Led Zeppelin, and others, including a little band called Black Sabbath.

Some years later Tony Iommi got sick of Ozzy's drunken, drugged out antics and fired him from Black Sabbath. Who better than RJD to replace him?

A few days ago I promised another Monty Python album. I'm a bit late, but here it is.

The oval in the center is a cut-out, showing you the new matching tie and handkerchief, with a free record inside. But this is Monty Python we're talking about...

The cover isn't the only thing that isn't all that it seem to be. Pull out the record, and you'll see Side 2. Wrong side to play first, obviously, so you flip it over and you see Side 2. What the heck?

You put it on your turntable and play Side 2 from the beginning. Then you flip it over, play it from the beginning again, and it's a different sketch. Flip it back again, and now it's playing yet something else!?!

Finally you realize that it's a 3 sided record. Because of course it is! One side has 2 grooves cut into the vinyl instead of just one.
