Nice Rooster, rt dak, just keep an eye on the outgassing of the celluloid covers. I had a FR cell stockman that totally rusted out from the outgassing.

I'm gearing up for final exams at work, so I think I'll post some album covers this week that have no text, or uninformative text, and see who can recognize the band/album. I think some will be easy for lots of people, but some might be obscure for many. This first one is easy IMHO:

I can almost play this game...I don't think I have any album covers that are completely bare of identifying names, but I think I have a few that will be hard for some to guess if I just cover the band's name. Here are two:

And with all the Beatles love going on, I have to throw this one in:

I'm stumped already.
Is that a Puma stockman on the 2nd mystery lp?

Start the bubble machine! ;):D
I really like the blade shape of that one. Who made it?

That knife is another one my grandfather gave to me no makers mark on the bottom bolster it is marked Thailand, The whole knife is brass blade the liners the bolsters even the bail all brass, in fact the bolsters are completely flat with the liners and have some leaf decorations, I have a pretty good hunch that he might have gotten it when he was in Japan in 1946 While in the Navy. When he gave it to me he said he couldn’t remember where he had gotten it from. PS this is his other knife I thought I had posted this earlier in the thread but it was when I was still learning how to put up pictures so here is the final pic

Wow, that takes me back!!:eek: I'd completely forgotten about Firesign Theater until your post, GE Jr GE Jr . I think the album I've heard the most from them is "Don't Crush That Dwarf - Hand Me the Pliers", with the saga of Georgie Tirebiter. :D:D I'll have to do some digging to see if I actually have that album; I enjoyed occasionally listening to comedy albums, but I don't remember buying any myself.

I have listened to that one so many times... Shoes for Industry!!!

I got nothing, L lambertiana ! I had a couple of guesses about the top LP, but some googling convinced me that neither was correct. (I even googled "rock sextets" for the first one, and came up with nothing I considered promising.)

That's the one I recall. I think I have it on Cassette. My oldest grandson's name is George and I occasionally sing a line or two from that jingle to him. My wife just rolls her eyes.

OK, now I can't get that out of my head!

Porgy Tirebiter,
He's a spy and a girl delighter.
Porgy Tirebiter,
He's just a student like you.
He's just a student like you.

Stop singing and finish your homework!

(Shoes for Industry, compadre!)

Thanks for the info, Very interesting knife build. I have never seen a knife with a brass blade...well, until now.

Yes, this one. I bought it in Stockton in 1984 at the Cutlery World that used to be at Weberstown Mall.

That bone looks awesome! I didn't know there used to be a cutlery shop in what I call "the mall". :D
Thanks for the additional pic.

Nice Case stockman and a really cool album cover.

Good tunes! What is the bottom knife? Cigar cutter?

Me either! I thought the bottom one might be James Taylor but searching his discography, I came up empty handed.

Give me a "F"... give me a "I" give me a "S" give me a "H" ..... :D
