TRASH1 in SR101 OH YEAH!

I agree. I bet this one sells out quick. Better get em while you can hogs.

Pretty sweet deal, my wallet is still reeling from the ASHBM LE though. Better get on this one hogs!

Battle Grade Basic ASH.... aka BGBASH! :D

-or-

Basic Battle Grade ASH.... aka BBGASH!

An email came out to those on the mailing list and Dan posted a thread on the Scrap Yard Forum. It is real !

Excuse me for saying so, but I think is not cool at all ... demonstrates a lack of professionalism, lack of adequate testing before the listing of the knife... and finally a 1095 that is probably not up to the other American brands that use it. This is my thoughts ... in your place I would feel teased, and i will ask for a refund, or at least I wish it was given this opportunity to all who have ordered.

By the way this is the original e-mail:

The TRASH 1 Will Not Be Made Out Of 1095 ! ! !
This is exciting NEWS for all of you Scrap Yard SR-101 lovers.
1095 steel has never been able to match the performance of SR-101 across the board in terms of Edge Holding, Impact Resistance, and Lateral Strength.
It can do well in any of these three categories, but it cannot excel at all three at any single hardness like SR-101 does.
Therefore, plans to make the TRASH 1 out of 1095 have been scrapped! It will, instead, be made from our legendary SR-101 steel.
All of you who have ordered a TRASH 1 will be receiving the SR-101 steel at no additional charge!
For those who have been waiting to order, we will extend this offer for approx. 72 more hours.

After this window closes, the TRASH 1 made from SR-101 will be priced at $169.95.
You just saved $30.00 and ended up with the Yard's premiere performance steel!

Just a bunch of excuses to justify the error....

In general, we call Jerry's errors "variants" and we pay more for them. ;)

In this instance, I don't read any excuses. I read the Busses as upgrading the knife steel in the knife offering and giving a short time to buy in at the lower 1095 steel price. As far as canceling an order, since these knives haven't been billed out yet, a cancelled order is only a phone call away.

Everyone has the opportunity to buy in or back out with this design change.

I would feel differently if the knife was spec'd out with SR101 and then got switched to 1095. I just don't really feel like I'm getting the short straw as it is.

Exactly. No harm, no foul. And while I regret that I won't have a chance to see what Jerry could have done with 1095, arguing with the same knife for the same price in what was ALWAYS the better alloy . . . SR101 . . . makes no sense to me. If you liked the Trash 1 it in 1095, you should LOVE it in SR101.

I'm bummed to not try the Busse 1095, but I'm exicted to get way more knife for the same money...makes me almost want to order another Trash1, but I just ordered a SOB CG last night...

Now the real question is, how long did the wait time just increase?

If busse wrong to you is always good.... You defend him with too patriotic spirit and zero critical. In the email they does not even apologize for the inconvenience. Instead I remember very well what happened when the zt made a similar error...

At least someone has noticed that it is lowered the quality of the finishes and the Steel in recent years?? The basic 8 seems the Chinese copy of the 7 or 9. Some of them were even crooked.

And I'm so sorry to say, because the Busse knife were my absolute favorites... The older models, are still some of the best knives ever made. But lately I see only errors and continuous declines in many ways. With all due respect, that's exactly what I think and I saw.

What the hell are you babelling about? Quit your crying...
