TRASH1 in SR101 OH YEAH!

In what world would a steel upgrade be met with Bah Humbug, instead of "Sweet! I'ma gonna need more!"

I will not order one, because funds are super tight right now. U had to sell off most of my Busse knives, but I sure would order if I had the change! That is a fantastic price for this piece. I have 1095, and a lot of other steels, but Sr101 is just plain fantastic. I had an ash 1 cg, and this would be even better as a user! ( and I used that Ash CG a good bit before it had to move on).

Just ordered one. Really like the handle on my Basic 8, so figured I need to try out at Trash-1!

1095 is good stuff, and I would have gotten one if it was differentiallt tempered, but was otherwise going to pass.
52100/SR101 on the hand makes all the difference, so I put my order in.

Ah crap... Wish I was here earlier to jump on the hater bandwagon... Anyways I am stoked about the change. I love 1095 but sr101 is a great steel and for the price I had to get a second.

How about Busse offer a basic 13 in 1095 and then change it to infi... I'd be in for a few of those ... Just saying

Error, mistake, marketing perhaps.....I don't give a rip.. I just bought 4 Steel Hearts for under 600 bucks and outfitted my whole family. yeah, that's a good thing!!

I think I'd pull the trigger now, knowing that they'll be SR101, if I hadn't ordered a SOB. Things are tight. Looks like it'll be an awesome using knife though, great all around camp knife. For the short time I had a Rucki I was absolutely thrilled with SR101.

Because one thinks otherwise, is a hater ?? I did not like the change, I wanted to see how it was on the field in 1095, with all the hours of heat treatment of busse and compare to 1095 of esee, as well esee 6 with the same size lent itself very well to the game.

The latest products of busse let me down ... well I consider this yet another disappointment. I would like clarification on the reason behind the change, my thoughts and reasoning were only myself, as I said ...

To all those who have turned to me so impolite, I simply say that i have not insulted anyone of you and therefore I demand the same. I thank those who responded and motivated his ideas politely.

As of 4:19 a.m. West coast time the Scrap Yard Trash 1 is advertised as Infi on the .com

Man given that I called out the free Busse mistake from when I ordered a SOB, and now the Trash 1 coming in Infi mistake, I feel like I ought to be an honorary employee privy to some of the upcoming Busse/Kin goodness....or maybe Busse could just make some sweet ass stickers and send me one....or sell me one...

Scrapizashi in SR101! Heck yea! Bring it back please.
Oh...and to you Drak Mihawk....we don't understand why you are complaining about this. The Yard using SR101 over 1095 is nothing but a good thing. Did you not read the part where Jerry stated that 1095 DID NOT hold up to the Busse standards? You whining about this reminds me of my 2 year old not being satisfied with anything I put in front of her. Stop your crap here and take it elsewhere.

Drakul Mihawk has a specific reason that he was wanting 1095. That being the case, I can understand him being disappointed. If I had been offered a knife in a steel I really wanted only to have it changed, I'd be bummed too.

Oh, crap. ...

*raises glass to Drakul, drinks*

Sorry you're disappointed man, I would have loved to try it out too :) but I can see why they changed it. As stated by Busse/Scrap Yard, 1095 is very good in certain areas, but was obviously not up to speed when all bases such as impact toughness, lateral strength and edge retention need to be covered well, and all together in the one hunk of steel. With this in mind, you can almost guarantee if they released a blade that wasn't up to par in one of these areas, someone would break it. Me being one of them haha :D

Busse's warranty is a lifetime one, so I understand the decision to ultimately cover the risk of costly repairs and replacements with a better steel :)

Good to see you on here too man, haven't seen you around before. Be sure to share pics and stuff of your cool knives, preferably them getting beaten on :)

I just checked the sales page at Scrap Yard and it lists SR-101 as the steel used in the TRASH-1. I'm sure everyone makes a typo now and then.;)

In the meantime,......................don't worry....be happy!:D

I admit to not being impressed by the offering in 1095. After all, the reason I have purchased knives from the Busse Family is their superior steel and outstanding warranty and service. I wasn't going to purchase the Trash 1, but couldn't buy it quick enough when it changed to sr101. Perhaps the old adages can be applied, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" or "don't mess with success". Either way, there is no reason to complain, either buy it or not.

The problem I have with this is, and don't get me wrong i'm a Scrapyard fan! In the first place Dan said that they got more out of 1095 then anyone else were able to so far( Esee? ). Then suddenly a change back to SR-101 because of better all round performance? I think they got a poor response and had to change back to SR-101 because thats what the majority wanted. Just my thoughts.
