Trophy Room - Hunting and Fishing Pics

It's a rental so we probably won't go too crazy with updates, but we did change the lights by the door to LEDs. It was those fluorescent bulbs that take forever to actually light up in the cold weather.

I'm not sure about it being used to humans, we are the last house on a street up a gulch, with a field between us and the closest neighbor. So we are sort of out in the woods. But it also showed no fear of Guy as he walked up to the door. It didn't leave until he turned on the light and at that it still looked like it was thinking of coming back. Luckily, we do take home defense into consideration normally. With the potential buffet in this gulch, I'm expecting to see it again. We will be more mentally prepared in the future, instead of just assuming the dog is crying wolf again.

No S! knife in here just a proud daddy behind the camera. My 2yr old sons first catch (I held the reel and set the hook. He did the hard part.)

Instead of hunting we were being hunted around 5 this morning. There was a scratching noise at the door and our dutch shepherd started growling, which is not uncommon for her. Guy went to let the cat in, since that is usually what is going on but instead the lab/staffy mix was at the glass door nose to nose with a neighbor dog... no... that's a BIG dog... a wolf?!... no... When Guy got the light turned on I heard, "oh fuck, there's a mountain lion out here!" I watched it wander about 20 feet away into the brush and then turn to size things up. I ran up stairs to turn on the flood light and get a better view but it had already moved on. So we might be picking up a couple trail cams.

I saw that on IG. Like I said.. 50 cent bullet will take care of that cat if it comes around again.

Leaving this Friday morning for Salmon fishing in New York for four days.
Hope to get into some big brownies too. Pics to follow the Necker will be on me 24/7.

Have fun! We want to see pictures, it helps us live vicariously through bf. I'm trying to con mama into letting me get out Friday night to go bass/catfish fish. We'll see if I do you know I'll post pictures.

The necker is perfect for fishing! Great choice.

Went hunting before work yesterday. I always take the 3.5. It was a slow morning, but I did bag a woodie!

Sweet! This thread needed a bump :) I am fortunately getting more time in the hills and away from the computer :) :)

Beautiful wood duck too, Riz.

We're salmon and trout fishing next to Lake Ontario for the weekend. My uncle caught a nice big brown and my buddy got a huge (in my book) salmon. Mind you I have a size 12 boot next to this fish..

Thanks TT. I'm not used to this kind of fishing. I'm a bass fisherman, this isn't my thing yet. Buddy caught this nice Atlantic salmon today.

He caught 2 of the prettiest brown trout I've ever seen. They sat on ice for like 2-3 hours and they got real ugly. The one on the left had leaves on it from being brought up the bank of the river and took on the leaf pattern as it darkened up. Real weird.

camo fish!!

Good looking fish. I'd love a chance to go fish some trout. We don't get them naturally here that I know of. They stock some of the lakes around here in the winter though. I'll be headed to try it out this winter I hope.

Took the pole to go check the feeders yesterday. Glad I did, caught one of the prettiest crappie I have in a while. Wasn't the biggest catch but nice color. A real nice blue that didn't show up in my meager phone picture.

You've got yourself a crappie there TT. Nice one, too. They're about my favorite fish for eating. Way to go man.
