It's so much cheaper to buy it from the store or local producers given the costs of equipment, time to boil it down and all that other stuff...
Yeah, locally, 8oz $10, 32oz $20People whine about the retail cost of maple syrup ..
Oh yeah, like when it's dripping down the sides of my waffles :love_heart:... and there's a very good reason it's worth it.

Iirc if you take the money, you also have to fill out more forms for taxes than your time is worth
Bah humbu
Ask them if you can sewer out a one time affidavit
For all this trouble you should sue the perp for $59000000
Since he does not have it the state may pay
Well, the stock trigger is unpredictable and has waaaay too much travel and pull weight....one of the mods I found online was to add a 5x8.5x3 mm bearing from the (RC car) hobby store and remove the spring.....so I did. Not hard, the trigger breaks better now and has MUCH less force to pull....still a little unpredictable, but at least I don't have to pull it all the way to the end of it's travel to get the damn thing to fire. I've got another bearing if you want it....pretty easy mod to do, even for me - and I am a complete neophyte with this stuff. PM me or give me a call, or maybe I'll see you in a couple weeks, hopefully? Charlie Da Tuna trigger should be here soon. Everything I've read says that is the BOMB. Still a hella fun gun to shoot.
People whine about the retail cost of maple syrup and especially maple sugar... but they generally have no clue how much work and energy it really takes to make that happen. I was spoiled rotten in that regard as a small kid, because I had a great-uncle who (among other things) made maple syrup, sugar and candy on his farm (on the same land his immigrant Dad was "given" by the US gov't under the original HomeStead Act)... so I got to see the whole process, and I got lots of yummy samples for free.
There's a very good reason it costs so much... and there's a very good reason it's worth it.![]()

Nos it's pretty easy once you know what you are doing. But if you never done it, it's kind a pain in the ass ain't it?
I figured that when you said you'd put an aftermarket trigger on yours, that'd be the one. Put about 50 rounds through mine this evening. The RC bearing mod works, but I'm really looking forward to trying out the Charlie Da Tuna. Not that I know anything about triggers or guns, mind. Or shooting, either. Just that the Benji is a shit-ton of fun. I like that it seems fairly easy to cock, and I like how powerful it feels. Still working on the homemade trap, tho.....compressed rubber patio tile seems to be the ticket, but I've still got a little fine tuning to do.I put a Charlie Da Tuna on mine and it is everything they say it is! It's like a real trigger rather than a federally-regulated "toy" trigger. I need to dig it out of the cabinet and put some lead downrange this weekend...
Dryer lint works really well. And wood shavings from a spokeshave or plane....the key for me was to pull the steel and not the knife. On another tack, I've got a couple Mora made LightMyFire knives that work awesome for fire starting. Use those more than almost anything else....Yep. At first it was pretty hard. We've had firesteels around, just never used 'em. I figured out that the can opener's blade on a SAK works really good for shaving magnesium and throwing sparks.
Staying in there even 2 extra minutes wasnt worth 5 dollars.
But there was a couple funny cases that entertained me while i waited. Ignorance ran high today. One guy yelled out "I smoke CRACK" when he was asked why he committed his crime and the entire court room, including the judge, fell over laughing.... Everyone already knew the answer... But the way he said it with such devotion, almost like he was proud of it, was hilarious... There was quite a few hilarious moments in there today actually. Probably shouldnt post about other people's problems though...
And there was a Barnes and Noble in walking distance so i managed to grab the only 2 copies of BLADE magazine they had. So not a total loss of a day i guess. Long and drawn out though.
