Ugly, Odd, Unique Knife thread!!

That one is a collaboration with a custom knife maker, Jot Singh Khalsa. The design combines some of the more common design attributes from his folders with Spyderco's design features. From what I have read, the knife gives unique and useful grip positions for precision cutting tasks that are unique to this design. This one is an example of Spyderco's choice to collaborate with makers that other companies would never take a chance on, which they do often.

I was talking about the ones on the front " bolster " face of the handle, they don't do anything.

Looks like a pileated woodpecker I just shot

a picture of.

May I asked why you shot it? Dinner? Fun? I am a hunter so I have no problem killing animals if it serves a purpose.

You may not want to advertise that claim too loudly. Pileated woodpeckers are a protected species under the US migratory bird act and you could end up being criminally charged for killing one on purpose.

Jill, is that tree dead or dying? I've never seen a Pileated work on green wood that is living and hasn't started the decaying process that allows various creepy crawlies to inhabit the wood.

Unfortunately, I don't have anything ugly or odd to contribute. But do have a couple things so steeped in form and function, that most ordinary folk just wouldn't see the genius. [emoji23]

Decorative bling, or deadly hook?

He posted at the bottom in his original post, with a camera. The person who quoted him, left that part off. The pileated woodpeckers really go after sassafras trees around here. Many of them are full of borers and not healthy.

Nothing beats Spyderco Jot Singh Khalsa for a full combination odd, ugly and unique.

I think that's a fighting knife, and you hold it upside down with the edge out.
People need to think of the Jot Singh Khalsa as a Karambit that you can actually use for your everyday tasks. It's totally bizarre looking but the ergos are brilliant, at least for my medium-sized hands. I suspect that really big-handed people might find it less useful.

I liked it so much that I bought the recent sprint run to replace the original that I had lost.

It can be but the original run, had poor lockup on the liner lock. I've had a few and the one pictured is the only one with good lockup.
The one complaint I have it I find the liner lock position unnatural but it locks up tight.

Thank you guys for your contributions the knives don't have to be ugly or stupid they can be unique or cool too. I just wanna see stuff that's out of the ordinary.

I love that little revolver bayonet. That is super gangster.

I love the Spyderco Reverse too. Pikal fighting style is my favourite style of self defense when it comes to a short knife. I have bad experience with the karambit for close in defense. It was not intuitive to use. I think besides the backwards looking knives such as the Spyderco Reverse pikal is a excellentnclose in fighting grip. Underrated, unexpected and surprisingly intuitive.

Do you have the original with the smooth micarta handles, or the later run? I'm sure the ones Spyderco came out with years later, had much better lockup than the original.

My current one is the 2013 sprint with G-10 handles but as memory serves my first Jot Singh was G-10 too. Maybe it was Micarta but I think G-10.

That CRKT turd knife is off the friggin chain! I was at the knife store today and saw that sucker in person. Like os that thing a joke? Are they serious with that one? How did that come off the assembly line and the worker at CRKT was like "seems legit."

Are you kidding me!? That will he hard to top. I saw a picture of a Dwayne Dwyer custom fixed blade that looked just like a turd as well. Maybe even worse.

Obligatory...It makes me giggle like a 10 year old every time I use it.

Ok omnvery good boys. Let's see some new ones though. Many of us have laid eyes on the turd twin blades. I'm looking to discover whole new species when it comes to this. I'm talking 700$ and looks like it came from a Bud K catalog.

Balisong #4...

The absolute ugliest of my collection. I'm not really sure why I had to have it except it was strange and caught my eye. Totally functional, though for emergency use. Complete with glass breaker and emergency whistle!

I carry this IWB. It is absolutely unique.

o1 tool steel. Copper plated. 3.5" blade.

Designed by myself and Dylan Farnham.

Ankerson not to go off topic but do you know any other knives in that configuration? Like reverse grip edge in with a ring for the index finger? I actually really like that thing it makes me think of an alien's wing.

Whats the story around that Balisong #4?
