If I had to rely on one all around knife I would very seriously consider a Busse, and they are my main knives for trips into the bush and kayaking. But as a designated fighter I wouldn't choose any Busse as my first choice, with one exception. What makes Busse superb as a chopper and tough knife makes it too slow and without the right geometry for penetration, at least for me. Someone with a stronger arm or a different technique may see it otherwise.I've pieced answers to this question together from a few older threads, but I'm not sure there has been a thread dedicated to it. What say you? Which is the best Busse for self-defense/knife fighting situation? What is the ultimate non-Busse?
The one exception is the AK, and I would bet any waki or sword made by Busse, but I've only actually used the AK. I am no sword fighting expert, that is for sure, but I do train a little. The AK is a beast and a beauty. The weight feels great, it has wonderful balance, and it's infi! And unlike most swords, you can treat it like a knife and a machete too.
I'd take the AK
