Even make fake accounts and post it all over...
Yeah...that'll teachem...

Today, I worked on lower/haul changeovers with a new load-release strap. Rigged up a pulley on my son's basketball goal and successfully lowered and hauled my attendant (a kettle bell) and litter (also a kettle bell) several times.

You're practicing some pretty complex systems. Anything we need to know?

^^ Sweet! I was just looking at some thermal imaging systems the other day. Not a bad price either considering what some cost.

I'll infract you later in private.... Alone... With or without probes. Your choice. :D

Getting first aid kits put together for BOBs and camping bags. Anyone have anything in their first aid kits that's not normal? I've got a pretty good list so far but still thinking I might be missing something...

Bandaid, assorted sizes
Tweezers
Gauze
Trauma shears
Ace wrap
Blister skins
Peroxide/alcohol
Smelling salts
Neosporin
Splint
Trauma wrap
Butterfly closures/suture kit
Quick clot
Morton/aspirin
Sterile gloves
Scalpel
Med tape
Cold and hot packs

Think I'm missing anything?

Whiskey and condoms belong in every kit.

Other than that you might wanna add something for burns, bites and stings.

Good ideas ww!! Condoms reminded me about tampons for puncture wounds.

he's been hanging out with the ESEE folks lately. :D

Hmm, the plot thickens!

In a couple of months, I'm taking a mountain rescue course with some of the ESEE people, and it requires an NFPA Rescue Technician II certification as a pre-requisite. I don't have the creds (yet), but the instructor gave me an exemption with the mandate that I have my crap together before attending. I have gone through the ESEE Rope Rescue course a couple of times though. The main thing I need to review are high line set-ups. May go down and train with a cave rescue unit south of me. I took their SRT class a couple of years ago, have become friendly with some of the folks on that team, and have bounced a few pits with them. I have an open invitation to come down and participate in their weekly training sessions.

I keep anbesol and superglue in mine. Numb it. Clean it. Seal it.

The anbesol numbs well enough that we used it to cut a huge splinter out of my toe once. Could hardly touch it with the tweezers without me flinching. A little anbesol, a razor blade, and voila. No splinter. No pain.

Another good one!! Might probably help with stitches too. Glad I asked! Keep em coming guys.

ranitidine -- class 2 "anti-histamine", can be used with any of the others (benadryl, zyrtec, claritin, etc....) to increase their effectiveness.
