Unable to defend myself on negative feedback thread

So the buyer entered the deal, not realizing that it was a non PayPal transaction....

Wrong.

The buyer chose not to read the sales listing making explicitly clear what my payment terms and conditions were and are, and why. He made an offer, I accepted and asked him to post a firm "I'll take it" in the sale listing, and he did. The fact that he did post it in the sales listing is proof he was aware of the sale listing, and it's on him. So he can not claim "I didn't know."

I offered him three easy ways to pay.

He ignored me then welched. When he did I asked him again to follow through and pay me with either of the three payment methods I accepted. He refused and I posted negative feedback about his welching.

I since learned that welching is permitted on this forum, so I asked the mods to take my feedback down, but the facts are reported in the GBU forum for all to read.

The buyer acted in bad faith, then proceeded to accuse me of being a con man. This is 100% on him.

I'm also sure that if this forum had a very clear "no welching" policy after a firm "I'll take it" has been posted it would prevent this kind of stuff from happening in the first place.

I'm on gun forums much larger than this one and they strictly enforce a no-welching policy after a firm "I'll take it" is posted.

I'm on those same forums but different user name. I can respect the way both forums handle these issues. Personally, If a deal sours or starts off on the wrong foot, sometimes it's best to cut your losses
of the time wasted and move on with a smoother transaction

LOL..you can't help yourself. Your attempt to be "fair" in your commenting on this just fell to pieces. But I know, it's just what personality types like you do when they invest themselves in an Internet forum like you have.

I guess this is why you have managed to post 15,854 comments on this knife forum over the past nine years.

For you this is a great source of personal satisfaction, apparently. And congrats for being another to make it to my ignore list. That's one thing threads like this are good for. Weeding out the wheat from the chaff.

Party on.
I think you just need to chill man. A deal did not take place. The buyer made a mistake. That's all that happened. No feedback should have been exchanged, period. I get that you're upset about your knife not selling, but it happens.

I'd also just recommend making a PayPal. It's what most people use and is generally trustworthy in regards to protecting both parties. Their rules can be strict, but long as you dont mention knife or gun in the description, you arent very likely to be banned. I've been using it for knife sales for around 3 years now with zero issues.

Thing is, he HAD a paypal account, and used to use it...until he got it banned for gun (or gun related) transactions. I'm guessing he'll claim he didn't know, just like he didn't know about the rules/policies here - funny that it's okay for him not to know what is plainly written, but it's an extreme offense when somebody else doesn't.

I extended him the gracious opportunity to make good on his firm "I'll take it" ... after spending thirty minutes back/forth with him when he first approached me with a firm offer that I accepted.

The terms and conditions were clearly visible to him. The buyer does not get to dictate to a seller what his terms and conditions for payment are, which this guy tried to do. PayPal is not the only game in town and I always make very clear why I do not use PayPal.

I was not aware that we can not post negative feedback because of welching and when I was made aware of this, I asked for my feedback to be removed. So your charge of "abusing the feedback" system is false.

How about you just mind your own business and stop trolling?
So you didn’t completely read the rules, but you lack any understanding that the other guy didn’t completely read your post?

Exactly. But you can make a new one I'm fairly certain.

I'm honestly pretty sympathetic to someone not wanting to use PayPal, but given that it's the predominant way to do business on the internet you have to expect misunderstandings like this one if you refuse to take it.

Centuriator Centuriator , if this little mishap gets your panties all bunched up, just wait until you get one sold, money in your pocket and the buyer insists that the knife wasn’t represented correctly even though it was and wants a refund because the real reason is buyers remorse.
Can’t wait to see that future thread
Personally, both of you should have gotten spanked and the negative feedback left to live with. But that’s just me and y’all better be thankful the mods are being generous today.
Both of y’all acted like two school kids that dropped their jello in the dirt.

It's always sad when a man demonstrates a fundamental lack of integrity and honesty.

not2sharp not2sharp has demonstrated the reason why he chose his name on this forum, that's for sure. He failed to demonstrate virtue and integrity and honesty and instead simply assumed he could screw a guy out of sale and not get called on it.

Well he messed with the wrong person. I will never put up with pathetic losers like him who limp along through life with their lies, their dishonesty and their fundamental lack of ethics.

But such are the times among us when a man's word is no longer his bond.

I've enjoyed all the snowflake puffery from the guys here who have little interest in the facts but are more interested in posting bullshit.

Pathetic losers all, but at least they've given me more names to add to my ignore list. So there is a bonus for me there.

I've always lived by this code and I don't intend to stop anytime soon.

Maybe you should let PayPal know about this code you live by, they might un-ban your account.

Bro, the man missed something in your listing, and didnt want to use the payment methods you offered. You are not the hero of an action movie, chill with all the self righteous speeches about honor lmao.

I would like like to think that a person who lives by a code of some sort would be able to separate a business transgression without needing to result to personal attacks. I get it. You're pissed, but man, I would be exhausted dealing with you. I own a business and sometimes you just have to roll with some suck. Code or no code...just this snowflake's opinion for what it's worth. You both dodged an infraction bullet for lack of reading skills.

A super was kind and scrubbed the misunderstanding. If it were me, I would take the lack of a permanent infraction as a win and mosey down the road with John Wayne swagger. This is an inconvenience at best.

"Personal attacks"? No, you don't understand what "personal attacks" are, apparently.

The facts are there for anyone to examine. I chose not to simply roll over and get the shaft from this disreputable buyer. Others may choose differently.

If you are a moderator, then close this thread down if you want. I won't back down, and I won't go away. I can do this as long as you want. So...do what you will.

Otherwise, the facts are the man welshed*, then libeled me and is getting pats on the head from some sycophantic persons here. The man gave his promise.

*fail to honor a debt or obligation incurred through a promise or agreement.

Just when I think I know enough to go on the exchange this happens.

I would definitely be the guy who would read something wrong, not read something at all or screw up how to make an on line payment etc and end up in a multithread clusterf#*k.

Oh well, I will be happy to pay a bit extra and stick to mainstream retailers all the way for me.

He didn't back out of a promise. He said "I'll take it" on a message board and then backed out when he didnt like the payment methods. It isnt that serious. Personally I only use paypal, so I see where hes coming from. You were both in the wrong when it came to the negative feedback though.

He screwed up by not reading or understanding the payment thing and the retaliatory negative feedback. But he's smart enough to see a well respected mod has weighed in and is letting it ride.

You? Not so much.

They were cheap knives to begin with. A mod has been very generous in his approach. It should be over. The majority of the posts are not saying you were wrong in being upset, but in your continued handling of the situation.

I would never conduct a transaction with you. Oh, and that has nothing to do with not2sharp's involvement or statements. It is 100% based on your conduct in this and other threads.
