First CRK knife: Mountaineer II #52, 1990
EDC:
Favorite CRK one piece: Mountaineer II (specifically, the one in my 1st answer)
Favorite CRK non-one piece: NR Warrior
Most beautiful CRK knife: Might be AdamLukzaks 2006 LE Sebenza w/ mammoth ivory bark inlays Devon Thomas SS raindrop damascus blade
Favorite Chris Reeve custom: Chris Reeve Misericorde (from the Reeve family collection -- I'm told that it is not for sale)
CRK knife youd want, money no object: Sebenza, serial #1, re-conditioned as a unique, design similar to the one I find in answer #3.
The next CRK knife you hope to get: a LE small sebenza w/ mammoth ivory bark inlays
Most interesting CRK story: In 1990, I went to a knife sharpening demonstration by Chris in downtown Boise. I didnt know much about his knives (or any knife over $50, for that matter), but I knew that they were relatively expensive, extremely well respected. During the knife sharpening demo, Chris took out a knife to sharpen, and as he did so, he said something like, this is one of the best knives on the planet. I was standing in back, so I couldnt readily see which CRK knife (or other high end knife that was out of my fiscal reach) he was showing, After a while, I could see the knife that garnered such high praise it was a Victorinox SAK! It was then that I realized the excellent, perspective possessed by Chris Reeve.
EDC:
- All days: large regular sebenza (unique), Victorinox Deluxe Tinker
- Dressy days: add Mnandi with giraffe bone inlay, hide sebenza
- Weekend chore days: substitute Victorinox SwissTool for Deluxe Tinker, Spyderco Endura when I need agressive, full serrations
