Unofficial CRK Collectors Club

Bought a BG42 Regular Sebenza in 1997 from Bridget. Bought it for military duty and picked it up at the Boise factory! Still have it and use it. Later bought a 7" GB that I gave to a Lance Corporal of Marines who took it to Iraq. He was the M249 operator in his squad.

I'm not giving up my BG42 Sebenza!!!!

Being pretty new to this forum (or at least very intermittent until just lately), I'm finding that you're a great group of folks -- knowledgeable, respectful, and just plain fun! Do folks ever meet up at knife shows? If so, what's the most likely one for people to hit? Would be fun to storm the CRK table, drool over customs, gawk at the super-popular-way-expensive-poorly-made knives (yes, I'll skip naming names . . .), do dinner, swap stories, etc . . .

I did a quick search in this thread and noticed that I didn't post anything here so here I go!

Large Classic MM Sebenza (plain)
Small Classic MM Sebenza with micarta inlays
Shadow III fixed blade
Large Regular CGG Sebenza (Lisa's pick of the month - Jul '06 - on its way this week, yeah!)

I also collect some tactical flashlights and proof sets of the USA state quarters and collect some morgan silver dollars.

Sorry...
I'm closing this thread until I get the dues!!!!!
(Oh, wait, I can't do that, shucks! :p )

My little CRK family has grown a wee bit since I last posted. I now have: 1 large regular Sebbie, with Zulu serrations, 1 small classic Sebbie, 1 small regular Sebbie with the Night Sky graphic, 1 Umfaan, and 1 bocote wood Mnandi.

Chris in not in the custom knife business any more, but when he carves out some time to indulge, he's right up there with the finest custom makers in the industry.

This 3 flute dagger has a very unique combination flat/hollow grind blade, crafted in CPM154CM. The handle sports Ti and 22 karat gold fittings w/ a braided rayon handle wrap. Blade length = 10”, overall length is 17”. He's featuring it at the Plaza Cutlery show this weekend. Some lucky person will take it home for $3000.

I got into the Sebbie world in the late 90's, I think '98. I have 3 right now, 2 are older models and one from '04. I have yet to find a knife (many customs included) that can stand up to the quality of a CRK product. They are a special breed.

I wish I got into knife collecting years ago and found Chris Reeve Knives when he started out producing his knives. No problem, though. I am glad that I am able to enjoy these knives now that I have discovered this extraordinary knife manufacturer.

I recently organized mine.

DaveH -- Beautiful collection! I especially like the trio of woods on the right. You just need an mnandi in the same wood to round them out :D . So, is one (or more ) of them your EDC?

My first was a "Solar Wind" Sebenza that I wish I never sold.

Before that, I saw a friends Sable IV and I was SUPER impressed with it.
I now own 4 of the Reeve 1-piece line and it's my favorite knife line of all time.

The Sable I (one) is, hands-down, the most impressive knife I've ever seen. I've got one. Mint, but someday I'll use it. -Jim

My first Chris Reeve knife was a large plain Classic MM Sebenza. My EDC varies a bit but I normally have my Leatherman Charge XTi with me and a folder or my only fixed blade (Shadow III). My favorite folder is my large plain Classic MM Sebenza and my favorite (only) fixed blade again is my Shadow III. I have posted a few times here in the forum that I just received my new Unique Graphic Regular Sebenza which is Lisa's Pick of the Month for July '06. This is a beautiful knife and I will definitely keep this Sebenza as a drawer queen. If money was no object, I would want a Sebenza that had a raindrop damascus blade and unique graphics on the handle with a garnet stone set in the handle (my birthstone). The next Chris Reeve knife I hope to get is a wood inlay large Classic MM Sebenza (though still deciding which type of wood). I don't have any interesting Chris Reeve knife story to tell only that I first discovered the magic of Chris Reeve Knives here on Bladeforum.com.

had a bg42 small sebenza-sold it

just picked up a umfaan edc-seriously thinking aboot sending it in for a total refurb-
