Upcoming Northwoods #54

i just wanted to let you guys know, the pictures of Derrick's knives dont do them justice; until you actually hold one and let the light hit them properly, you have no idea. They have a surprising weight to them: enough that you know its a solid knife, but not so much that it would ever weigh your pocket down. They have amazing snap to them: from closed to half stop, and to full open, it opens and closes with authority. Based on the first ones, I have no doubt the next batch will be amazing as well.

I just wanted to make a shout-out to Derrick and Wendy; they are amazing people. I had the pleasure of meeting them a couple times. I actually went in their store to buy a GEC #15, and a #09, and i was short on money (starting a new job, and no paycheck yet). And so at checkout i realized i was a bit short, and yet she made it work out. This is aside the point, however. They actually make you feel like you are meeting an old friend you havent seen in a while. They never just want you to buy something and get out; instead they welcome you and give you honest answers and insight.

If you ever need a good knife, i would give serious thought to checking out their site, or better yet, visit them in person if you can!

I like the look of these. Of course, I liked the look of the #25 size. If I had not already had a burnt stag steel #25 I might have fallen for one.

I always look forward to you coming in here! It was Wendy's first time meeting you. :)

Ok now that is just cruel & unusual punishment. Ya gotta give us a few hints ;) Number of blades? frame size? something??? :D

We'll work the pattern with 1, 2 and 3 blades. :) Bill and I came up with the idea--it should be spectacular! I'll give some more info when we get closer. :)

My fingers are crossed for something single bladed and a size between a 25 (I have a beautiful specimen in Dark Cocobolo) and the 54 :)

WOW!!! Must...... Have........

That cashmere bone is sooooo pretty! I love the single blade spearpoint knives too! GEC really has there fingers on the pulse of what people want, it's like they're reading my mind.

GEC is making it really hard to grow my vintage collection....

Not to be overly brownosing, but I think there's a lot of Derrick and KSF in that one.

I like these. The shield and bare end really make the knife for me.
Thanks

Wow, very cool! Congrats on a successful (so far) SFO, Derrick!
Maybe the timing will work out so I'll be lucky enough to grab one.

Wow - congrats on those Derrick!

Really great looking knives!

Very nice, manages sturdy with elegance! How about those Camel Bones? They really look sharp (in both senses!)

Regards, W

Derrick's got the stag, cashmere, and pioneer bone up on his site now.....ugh, can only afford one...decisions!!!! Listed under " northwoods forest jack" for those interested...

Ok. Bit the Bullet and have a Cashmere Bone Forest Jack OTW. Thoughts and pics when it gets here.

O dear, those do look good. I only recently received shipment of the smaller (#25?). I love it, but also thought "if it were just a bit bigger . . ."

If and when you do get something just a bit bigger, I'll be interested in hearing if/how the #25 holds up. I know they're not for everyone, but I think they're way cool, almost more so in comparison with their bigger brethren-- the foreshortened proportions.

Speaking of bigger brethren, good night there's some beautiful bone here:
