I have ordered several knives and other items in the last week and I specified priority for all of them. I am still waiting and it has been more than 6-7 business days for 2-3 day priority, The quality of the service at my local USPS has dropped over the last year and it is noticeable. I have always shipped everything USPS and I am thinking I am going to switch completely to Fedex. Has anyone else noticed this atrocity? I am very patient with knives, but it really pisses me off that my cigars are taking that long when I specified 2-3 day priority.

AGREED,,, I had some micarta,, and some knives back from heat treat sent by USPS that took way longer than I paid for

Ugh I hate when my stuff is shipped through usps.

I have to sit outside and wait all day, otherwise they just leave a note.

And yes sometimes it says delivered, but shows up the next day.

Nope love USPS 2 day priority. Tracking works well. USPS is only carrier that has showed up before tracking delivery date.

Yep! Several recent arrivals (not just knife-related items) have taken 5-6 days for the "2-3 day" Priority. They get away with it because they say 2-3 day delivery is not guaranteed.

I am going to send them a nasty gram. They have a complaint system on their website.

Yeah christmas time is horrible. So bad they are even delivering on Sundays lol. I have had 4 packages as of late sit at Indianapolis hub for 5 days after they arrived there. Priority mail is normally 3 days max and most have been 7 at a minimum. Its freaking stupid.

I would have thought that being well before Christmas is not even close, but I think they have very low staffing.

I am mad at USPS too, I recently sold a Tops BOB on the exchange, mailed it out Wednesday Priority mail and well the tracking said it was delivered Yesterday but the buyer said he never received it. So I just issued a full refund on Paypal, grrrr. I'm switching to UPS from now on.

I just sent a J. Oeser custom slip joint back to Jared to refinish, before sending it on to the new owner. He was home waiting for the package. No knock. No ring. Just left him a note in his mail box to come get it or reschedule delivery.

The update on my tracking said no authorized person was home to accept delivery. I am definitely going to complain once the delivery is made. Boils my blood that the lazy a- hole in the delivery truck could not walk the extra 10 feet to his door. On a package insured for $800. It is already a day late today. Some one else is waiting for that knife!

This is why I always pay for signature delivery on anything over $100, it makes some people mad but it covers you through Paypal. I started this after I sold a nice Peace Dollar on eBay and the buyer said he never got it, even though it showed delivered, so I had to refund. Much to my surprise, I got a check in the mail about 3 months later with a note that he found it in the bottom of his desk drawer...restored a little faith in mankind (for a minute or two).

It's that time of year again lol. As long as it ain't lost I'm happy unless it's a prescription or something I really count on coming on time.

Looks like the two day priority often slips to a 3 day delivery.

Of course, it's the holiday season right now!!!

The Christmas rush is on, slowing up everybody. That said, I prefer UPS over the USPS every time!;)

USPS is a joke, regardless of the time of year. Whether I've shipped or received, I've only had on-time deliveries occur approximately 15-20% of the time. I recently paid for 2-day express shipping to send my sister's birthday present, 4 business days ahead of her birthday. It arrived the day after her birthday. Any business without a government affiliation wouldn't last long with the sort of service USPS provides. It's equally my fault, though, for continuing to think that they might one day be able to do their job.

Shipping after Thanksgiving means delays, and it seems to get worse every year. This year, I had a package scheduled for UPS delivery on the Monday 11/30. It arrived at the local hub that morning, but didn't go out for delivery. For the next 2 days, notices were posted (on the tracking) that the item was left at their facility, and would be delivered at a later date. Wednesday evening, I tried to collect it at the hub - no such luck, it was buried in a trailer. It was finally delivered on Friday.
Most of my USPS shipments have been a day or two late. I try not to ship during this time, if possible, because many people don't understand & point the finger at me. (I've got stuff I want to sell; but I'll wait til January)
