Usps sucks!!!!

I give my usual mailman a gift card for Christmas . That man usually makes 2 passes by my place and will flag me down if he sees my truck while he's on his route. He's great, now his alternate is every bit the bane of my existence as you all have.

waiting for a 3-day usps priority package, which based on the tracking info, is taking 5 days. Of course this is MUCH better than an outbound international package of 6-10 biz days but 2.5 months passed and still not received. filed an inquiry 1.5 month ago. was told that I would be contacted within 30 days, which never happened.

So my 2 day priority cigar order is now on day 8. bastards

here is what I am supposed to get two boxes of

Our mail person hasn't even bothered to come down our street for the past 2 days!!! WTH??? I've had an outgoing letter in the box since Monday evening, and it hasn't been picked up. I confirmed with several neighbors on both sides of the street, and nobody has gotten mail for 2 days. This is a metropolitan area, not rural. There is NO excuse for this! :grumpy: Complaints are going to be filed tomorrow!!!

Sure, we got a foot of snow Monday night / Tuesday morning, but that's still no excuse. To make matters worse, I've seen the mail trucks in our neighborhood on both days, so what gives? :thumbdn:

We used to have a good, reliable, punctual mail carrier. That was until late last year, and I don't know what happened to him (he probably got fed up being treated like garbage by the USPS). I think we've had 7 or 8 different carriers now this past year, and there's never any telling what time they'll be by (or which one of the 3 most recent ones it will be). Mail could be here by 2pm, but it could be 8-9pm too. :grumpy:

How much snow you have left from the other day? I am only at 6000ft and I got about 17 inches. Denver got about 8 inches.

So much for "Neither rain nor sleet..."

Yep, USPS has been sucking, no wonder they are going bankrupt.

Padron 1926....great smoke, Cobalt. I smoke the 3 and 4000's regularly...the 26's are a treat when budget allows..Hope they land soon for you.

Sorry fellas. I can't be everyone's mailman. You guys have NO IDEA the volume of packages we have right now. It is overwhelming. We are actually doing better than UPS and FedEX. I know I am busting my ass for the customers on my route. Remember...your mailman can't deliver it until he gets it...not his fault. A lot of delays come when the guy you buy from prints a shipping label and sends you a tracking number, but that package doesn't make it to the USPS until the bum drops it off. So the four days it sat on his desk makes us look bad.

Mono I do have a killer mailman when my normal one is off. He has come back to drop off after he was already there once. He is awesome. Wish he wasn't the fill in guy. I know it's easy for us to complain but we do appreciate you guys mostly. A few bad apples won't ruin the mailman rep for all!!

The Christmas crunch is on, no doubt. However, carriers can be varied; our substitute carrier is MUCH better than our regular carrier. And that's for a town of 228 with only a part-time Post Office.

My local post office loses my packages all of the time. I'm finding my house letters are being transposed and packages are being delivered down the street. Glad for my honest neighbor.

I must be really lucky (knock on wood) but have never had a problem with USPS 2-3 day priority. As a matter of fact some packages I have gotten recently only took 1 day of course from relatively close distance. They have never lost any of my packages (again knock on wood) either sent or delivered. I do take the precaution of having signature confirmation on important/expensive packages because UPS/Fed EX will just dump and run.
Good luck to everybody that is having problems and hope your packages show up soon.
Cheers and Happy Holidays

same here. My package is due for delivery today. Making it 9 days total

I am hating USPS more and more with each shipping. They returned a knife to a seller from the Exchange here without giving a notice, or leaving a message/note or a phone call, or an e-mail. I carefully provided all info to make sure they didn't do it, because they had done it in the past.
That was back in September

I finally decided to trust them again for my Christmas gifts...bad idea! One of my packages is just "lost in transit" (thtat is to say nobody cares for it and it is lost somewhere, gathering dust)
The other is being retained somewhere and has been a week without changing status, just sittin' there waiting for somebody to deliver it. I am getting really annoyed by both the speed and the updates and info from these guys!

Thanks for your hard work.

I've never had a lost package through USPS, so keep up the good work.

Life was easier when I had a PO box. Less worries about theft!

I'm in the Ken Caryl area, East of the hog back, ~5,650'. We got a solid 11-12", and while the streets were a mess on Tuesday, they were not impassable by any stretch and there were mail trucks working in my neighborhood. Streets were just snow-packed yesterday, and easily passable even in a small passenger vehicle (and again, mail trucks were in the neighborhood). I don't know what's going on, and I can't get through to the delivery branch by phone (busy), so I might just have to go pay them a visit later today when I have some time. :grumpy:

Thanks for your hard work! I understand it's extremely busy at the USPS this time of year, but to not even deliver ANY mail for 2 days is really odd. As for me, I don't start the delivery clock until the package tracking shows it has either been picked up or accepted by USPS. That's only fair.

Usually no problems, but I can sympathize.
I left a Priority 2-day box under my mailbox for pickup (done it plenty of times before. Less than one pound so does not have to be presented in person). It needed to be at destination on Saturday for a family party.
Mail carrier ignored it. I dropped it off in-person on Wednesday at Post office. It didn't arrive until Sunday.
I guess "2-Day Priority" means "2 Days After It's SUPPOSED To Arrive".

Hahaha snow....i wish. Supposed to be 79 Christmas Day. Another poolside bbq for the holidays. Might need one of those Padrons Denis.

Nice... I love a good figurado... hint, hint.

re the watch you sent. For high value packages folks should consider using Registered Mail. It's not quick, but is the most secure way to ship, by any carrier. Personal hand-offs and sign-offs at every step of the way. USPS like to boast that the Hope Diamond was shipped by Registered Mail.

Finally got through to my delivery branch. Excuses, excuses...

They say they recalled all the trucks and stopped the Mail on Tuesday because so many drivers were ill-prepared (no chains!?!?) and we're getting stuck. LMAO!

And then yesterday, our "regular" driver (we have one of those?) didn't show up and the fill-in driver "accidentally" missed several blocks in the neighborhood. OK, whatever... :grumpy: Our street is right off of the main thoroughfare through the middle of the neighborhood, how the heck do you miss it?
