Usps sucks!!!!

Nice... I love a good figurado... hint, hint.

re the watch you sent. For high value packages folks should consider using Registered Mail. It's not quick, but is the most secure way to ship, by any carrier. Personal hand-offs and sign-offs at every step of the way. USPS like to boast that the Hope Diamond was shipped by Registered Mail.

Normally, I do, but person wanted the watch next day and only fedex does that.

I deliver mail in the city. Those rural guys play by a totally different set of rules.

You've never dealt with Seko. It took 12 days to go from VA to NE. No tracking update no nothing. We finally had to call to see what was going on before it was delivered. So they delivered my 75" 4K TV today!

How about this, I have to make sure mail gets inspected for over 1800 inmates (suboxone is current drug of choice right now) Wednesday the 16th Our regular mailman forgets the letters and over half the mail. Mind you, we are the biggest stop he has and the prison has been there for over 22 years. You can't fix stupid. This guy is BAD. I know the Post Office has a lot of Really Good people, but they are leaving, even they can't take what is happening.

Yes . . . the silly rabbits . . .
Only thing worse is "Royal Mail" from the UK. They have literally lost two packages. Or maybe it was the USPS once they got their claws on it. Just gone. I got refunds but the items were irreplaceable. Not expensive but . . .
Do they fly over the Bermuda Triangle ?

Anyway . . . back to the USPS.
Little know facts :

Shipping from the East Coast west the modus operandi is to tape the package to the back of a sick turtle and throw it off the dock into the ocean. If it can find it's way back to land or happens to swim around the continent then you might get your package.

The other thing I have actually seen in the tracking; shipping from the West Coast to Colorado . . . the package came west, landed in Denver, then continued on to the East Coast and then back to Denver. I have seen that sort of thing more than twice.
!!!!!!!!
Dog doo for brains ! Just wasting fuel and everyone's time.

I must say that despite the general ineptitude of the USPS, the Postal Inspectors are among the most professional and effective group of individuals I've ever dealt with. I've had to resort to requesting their assistance twice, and both times they produced results in rapid fashion. I have an immense amount of respect and appreciation for those folks.

We're one week away from christmas. USPS delivers millions of pieces of mail everyday. They work rain snow or shine and the carriers deliver well into the evening during the holidays. But yes, you deserve better than this. poor you.:(:(

Actually, I was 16 days from Christmas when I ordered. No excuse.

Yeah and it's not just over the last year, it's been over a decade maybe. I mean USPS is a government entity and they are pretty stuck with the bottom of the barrel in the technology world. They have never been great at the tracking thing.

Delivery has been pretty good for me except .. They "said" they delivered a box that had 2 backpacks in it. We never saw it. Their response " it was delivered and there is nothing we can do. So eff them for that one. My main complaint is the actually post office. What a piece of crap. Nothing is organized or clean. They never have an full inventory of priority mail boxes.

I just shipped a jacket recently and so I grab a $5.95 flat rate envelope only to get to the register and it's almost 12$ to ship. It is only 6$ but I was irritated.

Yeah they are sucking quite a bit recently.

You can say what you want about USPS but for the cost and number of items they deal with there is very little problems. Every time I have UPS and Fed Ex deliver a package something goes wrong. Mostly Fed Ex and with UPS is the shipping time and not delivering on the day they say they will. I have a knife coming today,it was shipped from CA at 9 PST Saturday Priority Mail,it is being put in my mail box in TN as I type this at 12.20 PM Monday. Where else can you get that kind of service for 6 bucks.

I agree about individual offices. Mine is great, nice people as I personally know most of them, very clean and well kept. I know how hard it is being nice to everyone with dealing with some of their customers. I am an Animal Control Officer and know exactly how that is,most people you deal with will cause you to act bad to others. I try to watch that myself. The main office in Knoxville is the worst I have been in. The people that work there beat out the DMV for rudeness. Individual route carriers can also be a problem,my PO weeds the bad ones out quickly. My carrier is a great guy. Reminds me I need to pick up a gift to leave in my box the 24th.

That has also been my experience with USPS. Usually Priority Mail has been fast, including a letter I mailed late in the afternoon on 12/16 from Ohio and it was delivered to California on 12/18 in the morning - 1 1/2 days at this time of year is excellent. The US Post Office is still my preferred shipping service.

I have had too many damaged packages from UPS, so I do not recommend them. I almost wonder if they jump up & down on boxes so they can fit more in the truck.

I suspect all carriers have a small percentage of shipments where things go wrong. Careful packaging by the sender can help keep a damaged box from turning into a damaged item inside.

BINGO!!!!
I am very careful packing items. I have gotten packages that I was amassed arrived. Always tape up those priority boxes,do not trust just the goo they have on them. I have had a couple that opened in the center even though the goo held.

We had a small item ordered through eBay shipped Priority mail a week ago. It was scanned into a hub in SC, and then disappeared for 6 days. Suddenly, yesterday, it was scanned in at our local PO, and is out for delivery today.

An extended family member is a carrier here in town, and told me this weekend that during this busy time of year, it is not uncommon for USPS to rent out U-haul trucks and contract drivers to haul packages from one city to another. These drivers are not USPS employees, so none of the packages get scanned during this trip. That could explain some of the odd tracking progress this time of year. FWIW.

Headed out to stalk my mail carrier right now. Not to retrieve anything but to give her a Christmas gift. Don't forget your carriers as the USPS problems and delays are usually not their fault.

It's the holiday season, I'm sure USPS is just caught in a poop storm of deliveries right now. Besides, you've never really felt what horrible incompetence is until you've used Canada Post and FedEx Ground.
