Vantage "Pro" s30v!

I emailed 2 of the online retailers that have the Vantage for pre-order a few weeks ago and one said they expect them any day, the other said they had no idea when they would arrive.

So RC, no date that I've heard of....

Thanks messer, I checked with new graham today and she said she was going to get back to me later in the week. So if I do get any info I will let you guys know.

Annie got back with me today. She said the guy they order from doesnt know a date either. So back into the dark again, hehe. :)

Dooooooeeeeyyyyy. I just got a "still ain't got your knife" email from Knifecenter. I guess this is just going to be a painful wait.

Me too, I open up my email and see one from Knifecenter. I get all excited and open it only to see it's still on backorder. What a let down.

I wonder if this is going to turn into the "2007" Kalinga... on the front cover of the 2007 catalog but not avail until Aug or Sept of that year... LOL...

Does KnifeCenter charge your account when you place the order or when it's sent? Just curious about that.

I would like to addresss this directly - the delayed launch of the 2009 Kalinga is one thing that Buck has no desire whatsoever to repeat. They are working extremely hard (many long nights) to get these knives out as soon as possible.

So while no one is gving out dates, the Vantage shouldn't be another long delayed product. (***The Paradigm will be out late this year, but Buck made that clear from the get go. New technologies take time to get them dialed in.)

Jimmer - I meant for my above comment to be more humorous than the way it may have come across. My appologies. I love my Kalinga and glad production was held until all the kinks were worked out.

Messer -

I didn't take any offense at all - I just wanted to be clear on the subject for everyone who reads this forum. Buck is committed to getting new products out in a timely fashion, and late releases like the Kalinga Pro will be the exception rather than the norm.

Well I made a little trip to the Buck factory today. They had a show case with several new models in it. My eye went straight to the Vantage Select. The sales person had to pull the showcase away from the wall to get one out to show me . It was worth every bit of trouble this is one sweet knife. I was impressed by the light weight of the knife. The finger flip was smooth and worked very well. It just felt right in my hand. The only bad thing was they had none to sell me. I just may have to give my "110" to rest as soon as I can get my hands on a Vantage. BTW the Ergo hunters are very nice also.

Longbow,

You lucky dog. I believe you are the first fella to actually hold one in your hands.
I got my TNT today and the shape of the blade is very similar to the Vantage...maybe some smart fellows at Buck consider the Vantage an everyman TNT.

I got to fool with them at SHOT last month :D

I was real impressed with them as well. I'm anxiously awaiting mine for further testing too. It was one of the top items I walked away from SHOT wanting.

i'm excited as heck too-one of these things in S30V for my back up knife would be one sweet thing

I remember the 408 S30V Kalinga Pro wait - and the unadulterated glee when it arrived. It was well worth the wait!

No it wasn't... that was maddening! You bet the 408 K-P is a great knife - it should be - this one will be as well. We just want it NOW!! Yeah, too much Pepsi Max - again. Patience - a virtue?? Ha - what's that??

Stainz

(Whenever they become available) i'm figuring the Vantage Pro S30V will be one of the last three knives i will buy for a while.
I'm going to go on a 365 day long period of being fiscally responsible!
Time to flex the old will-power!
:D

Willpower is overrated. Our banks and government aren't fiscally responsible, why should we be? Buy toys, stimulate the economy. Be a good citizen, buy knives, ammo, guns, oh yeah, and beer. Drive Nancy Pelosie nuts. It's for the American way dammit. And then go camping to avoid the phone nazi's. Maybe I should have had a couple less beer's tonight!
