Viet Nam Hawk Negatives

That's a Ted Frizzoll Hatchet from MMHW (Mineral Mountain Hatchet Works). He says if you break any of his work just tell him how you broke it and if he feels that he didn't provide the best he can he will replace... Respect his work. Original and deadly.

Another matter. Anyone know how I can post pics stored in my computer? I wanna share pics with fellow forumites but I don't know how.

You are correct, it is from MMHW and I love Ted's work. Both those axes are mine and I am very fond of them.

In order to post pictures you will need somewhere to host them on the web or you can upgrade to Gold membership.

Strictly speaking the MMHW hatchets are probably more useful in battle than the Vietnam Hawks, K5 and SwampRat's crash axes and the RMJ axes due to the deadly beard and top spike. However I would love it if someone tested it to destruction like the fella Noss4 in youtube.

How thick is the MMHW axes? How heavy are yours tedwca? How do they handle? Spill thy beans till u runneth over mate!

PS: More pics if possible

It weighs about 28oz. and it handles very well. It feels good in several different grips and the hawghide finish gives a good grip. The handle is 1/4" thick and the OAL is 17"
I will NOT be testing it to destruction. Sorry:D

Here's a few more pictures

That is beauutiful! Damn... Wish I lived in the States (not California cause I heard the laws are crazy strict or just plain crazy) so I can have a 'proper' collection... That'll definately be on my list. Right now I devoted an entire room for my collection and I can just imagine how awesome that'll look on my wall. 1/4 inch thick of 5160 spring steel. That'll definately feel good in the hand.

Worse come to worse if I can't import it to Malaysia I'll buy a sheet of 5160 steel and get a pal of mine to cut it to shape for me. However I'm worried cause he has a plasma cutter and i'm not sure if the steel will not be damaged after. Then I'll read up about grinding (pal has grinding machine) and heat treatment and Fix some micarta or G-10 onto the handle by sunk in nuts and bolts and bob's my uncle! I'm sure that Ted Frizzoll does the heat treatment by blowtorch so it's possible for me...

Till I find out how to host pics in the web or become a Gold Member (anyone with any ideas how?) I'll keep my pics stored ready... Thanks again.

If you notice I live in California and as a state we actually have some of the most liberal knife laws in the US. No length limits on fixed blades or folders statewide(local ordinances apply in areas like LA, San Francisco) Only real limitation is fixed blades must be carried openly, not concealed. I have well over 100 knives, swords, axes, etc. and never had an issue.

Well it shows that I have no real understanding of US laws. I must have believed too much of the over-exaggeration of some State's laws... Carried openly has its merits compared with the somewhat deviousness of concealed weapons. Someone educate my country's lawmakers! I want to have a 'proper' collection too!

Well, some of the local laws(LA and SF) are pretty obnoxious, but most of the state is pretty decent in regard to knives. One thing to note is that even though you can carry a 10" Bowie legally doesn't mean that people are not going to freak out and call the cops.

Also the gun laws here really do suck.

Will full certainty (laced with sadness) I can confidently say my country's laws are mucho worse. Criminals (roughly50%) carry guns and we the innocent peaceniks are at their mercy. Only the super-rich have gun permits and I mean the really rich people. I envy ur country.

True... There is good and bad but some must be badder than others? Mine still ok but i'd hate to live in some countries which have totally no human rights. However ur country is admirable in the way it treats all of races and gender. In Malaysia I'm a second class citizen that is always reminded that i'm not only the ethnic minority but genetic inferior. My country ain't the worst but that don't make it any less painful.

Still, keep a happy smile and stiff upper lip.

racism is terrible, for the oppresors as well as the oppressed.

....that said, it's a fight ...and there is nothing better in battle than when the opponent underestimates your capabilities.

if they want to live with that falsehood, that you are inferior, that is pride.

and pride comes before a fall.

Just keep fighting the good fight, man.

What do you guys think of these designs? I have a VTAC as well, but the spike bugs me a little. I like the ability to thrust with these types of axe/hatchet. Both are designed for fighting rather than brushwork. I really like the look and feel of both these blades.

Wow, the beard looks so much more pronounced in the second pic.

It's the angle I took the 1st photo at. The beard is more like the second picture.

I just recently figured this out... contact me direct, I can help you...

Thanks Glock17JHP but apparently you set it so you can't receive mail! Anyhoo thanks for offering, that's pretty swell thing to do.

Also a big thanks to fellow sympathizers with their encouragements. In forums there is no division due to color/race/country/gender and i wish there is more of this in the world today. Thanks again.
