VTOKU Sprint Run

pretty much how i feel. ive had a beautiful set of aftermarket scales made and theyve been collecting dust for 6 months

Man, when is that Dragonfly going to drop?

It will drop before the Stretch because that is the one I am really
waiting for.

Mean while, the VTOKU Delica has really impressed me with its
holding an edge and easy touch up that I have taken a shine to it
that I have stopped looking for Super Blue and HAP40 Delicas.

I love my vtoku Endura. I gave it a nice toothy edge on a coarse diamond, and went straight to the strop last week. Only the bark river green compound. It’s like a microserrated edge now. Absolutely sings through cardboard. Been using it daily since and it will still shave arm air.

Since the LADYBUG dropped. It will probably be next year before the Stretch drops.

I never bought a dragonfly before, gonna keep my eyes on it. And I see that the delica is sold out everywhere in the states huh? That's the sole advantage of living in the Netherlands; the vtoku sprints are still readily available over here. Para 3 Rex 45 too Haha.

But I own premium delicas and Enduras anyway, it's tempting but I'm gonna pass on the delica and keep an eye out for the dragonfly. For some reason I've been looking at df's for at least 3 years but every time another knife came along which won my favor.

I'm pretty much done collecting and very satisfied with my current bucket of blades. All I want is a dragonfly for the novelty and what better time then now? There is no eta Hm?

hi Dodgie02,be happy haha that you can buy the Para3 REX45 in the Netherlands for so much,€175 is roughly $200,so who's better of?

Hostile much? Those are just the prices here. Even goddamn delicas can go for 100 plus eur.

That said it's plenty affordable to us. Everything here is more expensive then USA produce. That's offset by many other factors ofc as well. Great heath care, never having to worry about crazy hospital bills - subsidised education for students, with nominal fees ofc. If you finish your education you don't have to pay back anything except if you borrowed extra.

But really, what's your point exactly?

Why the snarky comment?
I'm not going to have this discussion again, I've had several conversations with sal on this topic because sometimes importing and paying import taxes and shipping overseas was cheaper then local consumerism.
But a pm2 for rex 45 for 180. 20 bucks up a normal one? No problem and thanks! Ha he'll yeah ill take that yeah ill take that.

But it's not good for Spyderco, their prices get marked up to crazy things somethings, putting miduppper models in the same price range as the upper level blades of competitors.

This is second time I've had a member throw a fit about this exact same thing? Thought the spyderco community was better then this.

Hi dodgie. You’ll like the df2. I love mine. Gets used a ton. I often forget it’s clipped to my shorts.

Also, I think the hostility (bitterness perhaps)comes from the “ha-ha” in our face about the rex45 being so easy to get for you.

Oh snap hadn't even thought it might get interpretreted like that. I meant it in context of the absurdity. As you might or might not know, the KINGDOM of the Netherlands house only house 17mil peasants. Of said peasants, 10 percent probably carry a knife, and seldom do I find a person who carries a decent Knive and actually knows his steels and all that.

Those people are 2 in 17 million, approximately I assume. Me laughing isn't like Bart Simpson at expense of others It's more like the absurdity that every time I see an exclusive released it's gone faster then the speed of light and people scurrying for sources..

Guess I came off too strong too. In the past What was it- with I believe the first gray cruwear pm2. Nobody could get one, provided the option of shipping it as gift which still undercut ebay quite a lot back then(no import tax) but I want just trying to help out. I couldn't believe how rude some members became. Couldn't offer them at cost price but at least a quarter less then ebay flippers :( well shit, scuse me, I'll just log off then :p

And let's drop the economics talk, it's all relative to many factors and

But I do have to say some knives I also had to import, so I'd ending up paying . 40 euro import tax, 20 something shipping, but things like the red m390 I don't regret at all even if I paid more :) a caly 3, that stuff.

What I do find crazy is Benchmades service. 30 bucks for a satin blade, sure, debit away. And other 30 bucks eur for just sending it in. Then I was told I could receive my package if I'd just accept the costs of 28 euros again Hahaha. Fuck me. Could've better bought a new 940 :p

Anyway, sorry the poster above that no faul play intended. Please try to see my side too, my English is fine but with different cultural means of thinking and trying to make sense of it all for you guys can be quite a task.

But within 3 years I went from relative novice to a mirror polishing steel weirdo. Haha!

What? I read my post back and all I'm saying is my interest in a df2. How can you interpret Haha in that context as an insult. I'm simply stumped how these knives aren't flying off shelves here, as well. Especially in contrast to the states.
I don't know about you but we're not in kindergarten anymore.. I didn't even think it might interpreted like that friend, take it easy. I'm 30 years old, don't just hop to the worst assumption.

I'm not out for a fight there probably got something lost in translation so please stop insinuation otherwise! At least you have a thriving knife community! I'm like a snowflake over here :( I'd give up easy access to sprints for that anyway :(

Oh wait? Was it the part bout a rex para 3 for just 20 above g10, Haha yes please part? Hahaha rest assured man. Reason that's worth a happy jump is because in the past and I Shit you not, they tried to mark up sprints of popular spydies up up the upper 200 euros.. :/ things finally are getting normal again albeit the extra costs due to import and taxes and what else. (first time I was on the forum there and who else but mister spyderco himself takes intrestesst and we had a nice chat about it. Unprecedented customer appreciation to me. Haha I was actually nervous!

Anyway about that one dragonfly!

How often do you guys actually use it? I've always said the delica is as small as I go but I assume the praise isn't there for nothing. Gonna see how vtoku stands up to other steels as well.

Second edit:
Screw you guys, making threads, posting that beautiful damn delica.
Blue is my favourite colour, currently cleaning my pakkawood one which I've been carrying alongside a pm2 in rex (shit takes a beautiful patina. I'm the kind of guy who uses what he has on hand and just from 2 weeks of kitchen use it already has a pretty visible patina..

My first spyderco was An orange delica. The orange pm2 feels like a full circle in path of upgrades. Second was a blurple pm2. somehow thevtoku got added to my cart, and I caved. Might gift it to a friend if the dragonfly drops before his birthday mid next month though
