On paper I prefer polished blades as I feel that polishing is an extra step and is an indicator of quality. Seeing the Norfolk side by side with the standard swayback has forced me to reevaluate my assumptions however. The Norfolk is just gorgeous. Although it is not polished, it is obvious that it is of higher quality as the lines are crisper.
Tony recommended that they make the Norfolk with a ground finish. The blades are very closely packed into that handle and rubs are nearly impossible to keep from occuring. I prefer the ground finish for the reason you pointed out, that it keeps the grind lines from being washed out by tumbling and buffing. It's a great finish for a user knife as well. I'm going to use this one, but it won't see hard use.

John....nice MoP Norfolk there! I have noticed a lot of really nice(even OUTSTANDING) MoP on new Case knives lately. They don't round it over very good but it's sure nice stuff.
