What the... How come I can't vote? Was the poll only up for a hour or so? Oh well...

hikeeba's preferences:

NWA style, larger or small, carbon steel, sheath optional.

Though the Linger with a full flat grind in carbon steel would be a close second!

I have the poll for 10 days. Ohhhhhh.... I think you might have to be a paying member to vote in polls.

Your vote still counts Hikeeba;)

Hey guys,

I don't post much in the survival forum, but I read it everyday. You guys have really got me thinking about how much time and money I spend on knives...when I should be spending it on learning how to better use them. I'm in for whatever you decide. Thanks everyone.

Thank you tarmix101. I've been meaning to look into a pay account. I will try to get that going sooner than later.

Utility Drop Point, Flat Grind

Micarta or G10 (Orange sounds like a nice compromise between aesthetic form and hi-viz function.)

Utilitarian Firesteel Sheath

I like the woodslore pattern with the full flat grind. A little bit of palm and pommel swell would make for a nice handle. I have one of the Wilkinson woodlore knives and think the handle is the most comfortable ever used.
Whatever is decided upon I am in.

I really Like The Drop Point Flat ground Best of all, In your pics I like the second one down in the top pic as far as size goes.

Keep us posted this is an awsome Idea

Looks as though we have plenty of enthusiastic participation. Price, and design are always a factor.

Great participation to all. Once we have a pattern figured out from the poll, we will have a maker (or five if we are lucky;) ) submit a design based off the poll. From there we can get down to brass tacks on price.

NWA pattern, no sheath, no handle scales, special stamp or etch on the ricasso. Could be interesting to see what sheath/handle materials members come up with on their own. And it would keep the price and production time down since more could afford it. The whole cost goes into the quality blade and etch or stamp. Then to each his own on the cord wrap, micarta, ebony, mammoth ivory, birdseye maple or whatever scales, pins, rivets, mosaics, and the kydex, tooled leather or whatever material sheath. As sure as the sun rises, some will do custom grinds too, and those will be interesting as well!

Just a suggestion.

i am in, any makers yet?

alex

We have a couple that are interested, but nothing set in stone. Will get there though. Just need to do one thing at a time. Right now, try and pick a pattern to fit the majority;)

I believe Gibsonfan mentioned that as well. I'm more than willing to look at an blade only option. Lets get a pattern figured out, and go from there. Great suggestion Codger:thumbup:
