Hey...... those better be virgin edges when the reach the testing grounds! No sampling the yay-yo before the junkies arrive.

Rick

Right!

But knowing Jason, he'll probably just sleep with the knife or something else weird like that.

Yet another reason why I'm disinfecting the knives before I test them.

I wish someone would have said something before now! Fortunately, the only one I have is Bills. I haven't put it to hard use yet, but I will say it's quite a knife for opening beer bottles and for toenail maintenance. I wonder if that's why my beer tastes funny?

:barf:

The knife I sent you today was my blade of choice for removing genital warts..... from my dog.

Mine has seen a few dogs arses as well Rick! Its ergonomically correct for that use.

hmmmm...looks like this calls for a change in the testing categories. I'll stop at the pound on the way up.

That could be one of the testing requirements. How many dogs nuts could be taken withought sharpening. Just make sure to stock up on those lamp shade hats!

I wish I paid closer attention to the stickies as I would have loved to get one of my knife patterns entered and obtain some feedback. This pattern is just at 7". Problem is I just started cutting tonight and there isn't a chance on earth I have the speed to complete one, send it in for heat treating at Peters, and then complete it before the 17th.

Here is my junk steel pattern I cut to use as a scribe and also my completed prototype I gave to my father-in-law.

Next one, I'm in for sure.

Thanks for looking

I'm impressed ... all of you have made some great knives!

Waiting for mine to come back from heat treat ... it's in the mail. I have the two piece handle slabs glued up and bought some veggie tanned leather so when it gets here I'll be ready to go.

This will be the first knife that I will complete and make a leather sheath for. I've done a lot of mods and backyard heat treats but hopefully this one will bring it all together.

I'm running out of time ...... I might have to deliver it!

Anyway, here is a sneak peek.

My hat is off to all the makers in this competition. You all have created some jaw-dropping blades!! It will be a lot of fun reading the reports and seeing how they all perform in the competition challenge.

Just got my knife finished. Putting some finishing touches on the sheath before I take pictures.

Aldo's 1/8" 1095, desert ironwood, brass pins and lanyard, 3" blade, 4" handle.

some great looking knives! while I like knives in all sizes, neck knives are my absolute favorite :D

small knives imo are are tougher to get right, you're generally asking quite a lot from such a small package, if it's done right however they won't let you down

good luck to all the contestants
