W&SS knifemaking passaround and giveaway

I'm sure that I still have some matching wood left over. Let me know.

Whichever is best/quickest for you guys. If you want to send me another piece of that wood, I'll get right on another firesteel. If you send it to TF, for goodness sakes wrap it in ORANGE TAPE or barbed wire or something so he notices it and doesn't throw it away!!

(TF, dude, you realize you're not gonna live this one down for a while, right? ;))

Would you be upset if I told you, I took pictures but just didn't post them, to build up suspense and keep people checking this thread?

:D

OK I admit, I never did take any pics. :o

Hang in there ladies and gentleman, it's a good knife and sooner or later you'll get to see it. Unless of course, TF throws it away

:D

LOW BLOW! We really just need a picture update TF. Something to keep our spirits up :D

this was a great read untill i got to the end and theres no pics! lol now i have to keep checking on this thread too....

OK guys, who wants it? You decide. I can get it in the mail sometime this week. Just send me an address. I too want to see how this baby looks all polished up.

I left a message for TF, we'll see what he says. I'm more than happy to do it, it would just take a few extra days due to mailing it back and forth.

OK PB, here's the plan. Send me the wood and I'll make the firesteel. TF will get going on the sheath in the meantime and we'll each send them back to the OP to save a little time.
Please shoot me a pm or email at james.terrio@yahoo.com for my address. (I can't pm until I pony up for a proper membership :o)

TF, the firesteel will be 1/4" diameter, with no more than 2 1/2" exposed from the handle. I'll keep the handle to a reasonable size, say 1" long, 3/4" wide and 5/8" thick.

Sheath is done:

I tried to make up for it by getting on the sheath ASAP - I hope she pleases the eye.

Beautiful work on everyone's part! I'm especially fond of wenge, so that's a nice treat to see on this knife

It's one of my favorite woods. I chose it because it's durable and looks great with the black and brown grain.

The only downside is the rather nasty dust and the way rough lumber tends to leave painful splinters by just looking at it. Once finish sanded, it's wonderful stuff.

I've got a Fallkniven blade that's I'm in the process of putting some wenge scales on, as well as a few other blade blanks on their way in the near future. Cool stuff.

tf, the sheath looks great . make sure to put some oil on the blade before shipping it out.
