W&SS knifemaking passaround and giveaway

Looking great. I understand about the health issues. Starting to get back into knifemaking seriously after al almost 2 year break due to health issues with my wife (who is doing great).

That looks awesome. Makes me want to try the Wenge.

Looks fantastic sir!
I have 2 projects waiting for heat treat (now for almost a year). They are my first 2 attempts. I still haven't finished my forge. I was almost done completing it out of adobe when the winter hit and it froze. :(

knife looks great! Glad you were able to post some pictures. I too have to apologize for my lack of dedication to this project/blade forums. I have been pretty busy lately.

Anyways glad to see this moving along. It should be ready just in time for Spring.

If anyone involved in the project needs any info for coordination, shoot me an email. I don't have PMs right now as my paying account expired.

Do I get it next for pants?

TF

I believe its going to Richard J (sharpening), then to James Terrio (fire steel) then to you, then back to me for the giveaway, which means you get to see the finished final product first. Maybe PB Wilson can weigh in and say if he's sent it off yet.

Actually it's going to Talfuchre (which is where I thought it was supposed to go after me) and there's another package with a chunk of wenge and brass tubing going to James for a firesteel. Sorry if it's out of order.

Richard, what is that status of the knife? I had sent you a reply to your email a while back and never heard back from you.

Taking a lil while to complete this huh! But I will be glad to see what a multitude of knifemakers come up with in a combined mindset.

We need a picture update as well. Such a cool project. Please let this not get bunged up.

Hi gents! The knife is here with me, and after some confusion (I thought I lost it in a recent move) I found the tubing and wood for the firesteel also. So I will get to work on that this week and get it sent on to TF for pants.

Forgive me if I missed something... any recommendations on a finish for the knife and firesteel handles? I was thinking danish oil would be nice. It sure is some handsome wood.

I just saw that you pm'd me about the wood. I'm glad you found it. It's gonna be a great set for sure.

Danish oil would be a good choice I think.
